Customer Review: Expensive (with shipping) and Not Returnable

I purchased these soda chargers for a Liss Soda Siphon, also purchased through Amazon. The siphon turned out to be defective; unable to hold pressure for 10 minutes much less overnight which was the latency period recommended by the manufacturer. This despite being a simple device with a straightforward instruction set which was followed to the letter. Bottom line: I returned the Siphon but Amazon states that because of the "hazardous" nature of the chargers they are unable to accept returns. That's odd and decidedly inconsistent since Amazon warehouses these and then shipped them to me with no apparent problem. Amazon...What gives?Customer Review: Great!

I've been using ISI chargers for years. They work very well -- I've never had any issues with them at all. One charger is enough for one siphon of water. Water comes out crisp and tasty. I am totally addicted to it.
One trick is to vigorously shake the siphon up and down after you've discharged the charger into it. This makes the water bubbly from the very beginning.
Yes, using one siphon many times would be nice. But then, since I'd be breaking laws of physics, I'd also quit my job and create my daily bread out of thin air...

Don't buy these! You can only fill the siphon 3/4 full of water with these chargers, or the siphon will spray water everywhere when you attemt to charge it. So you only get 3/4 of a liter of soda per cartridge, instead of the full liter you're supposed to get. Also, the soda produced is very flat, and customer service for this product does not respond after repeated attempts to contact.
Purchase the Leland 8g soda gas instead, it seems to produce more bubbles an the siphon won't spray unexpectedly, no matter how full you fill it.

The water from the ISI charger is not quite as fizzy as the bottled selzer that I buy but we like it just as well. Also, I like the idea that I'm not contributing more plastic waste - even if we do faithfully recycle. I'm sure that there is someone, somewhere, that would argue that producing the chargers also takes energy but they are sure cheaper to transport than bottles of water being carried by big trucks.Customer Review: Reliable and the best deal going

You can scan Ebay until your eyeballs fall out and you won't find a better deal than this. When they are available from Amazon with free shipping I always stock up. Isi is a good reliable brand - I've had no name chargers with a few duds in the box. By the way - the empty canisters make good cat toys - my herd likes to bat them around the kitchen floor in the middle of the night.
