Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Zyliss Susi DeLuxe Garlic Press

Customer Review: don't try to buy this garlic press from amazon
Summary: 1 Stars

Don't try to buy this item from Amazon. I tried twice, and was sent the wrong garlic press each time. I received a full refund but lost several hours of my time. I really wanted this garlic press because I own one and think it is great. But Target, which is the actual seller, kept sending the Susi 2 press, which is not what I wanted. I spent a lot of time with customer service people after the first error trying to avoid the same error a second time. To no avail! Look elsewhere if this is the garlic press you want.

Customer Review: Great press, but requires some squeezing strength
Summary: 5 Stars

I like this garlic press a lot, it's the only one I've tried that can process unpeeled cloves without breaking. It leaves almost no unused garlic residue in the press, and is easier to clean than traditional presses. However, it does require some force to operate, especially when squeezing unpeeled cloves. If hand strength may be an issue for you, you should consider the OXO Good Grips peeler with the black handles and red cleaning head, which takes almost no effort to use (it's also the easiest of all to clean).

Customer Review: just tooo easy
Summary: 5 Stars

I never wanted or felt I needed a garlic press before. It's so easy to just squash, peel and chop or mince a clover or two. I've done it all my life. But the Susi is marvelously simple - you dont even have to try to peel the garlic. Just pop it in and presto, chango, crushed/minced garlic. Just wipe it off into the pan (or whatever) and keep going. Cleaning is a snap, too. I dont understand these complaints with the plastic cleaner. As you take out the leftover peel, the rest of the garlic comes out too!

Customer Review: S'Wonderful...!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I cannot add much to all the compliments showered on this little gadget by the other reviewers... but I will vouch for their veracity. As for me, I can only say that I no longer bother to even look at the garlic presses in the cooking magazines or websites... Also, the Suzi will make a fantastic gift that will be appreciated sincerely by anyone who uses garlic in their kitchen and is still dealing with the quirks of the "other ones". Buy it... this is one purchase that will have no regrets attached to it!!!

Customer Review: Great if you receive it
Summary: 1 Stars

I ordered this item last May based on the reviews. By September, it was still in back order. As I had already thrown away my garlic press because it got stuck all the time, I couldn't wait to get a good one. Well, I waited and waited and waited. I kept receiving emails from Amazon about it being in back order asking me to approve the order. I kept doing it (for 5 months) until I got tired of waiting. I ended up buying one at Target. It's a Chefmate, cost me about $6.00 and it works great. Very sturdy.
