Customer Review: Better than my Kuhn Easy-Sqeeze

I've used a Zyliss Susi for years (atleast 10ish?). It must be the Deluxe, the finish looks the same as the picture. I loved it and recommended it to everyone. I realized it was probably made out of aluminum and don't like aluminum on my food but when someone described a Zyliss as painted aluminum that chips, I knew I didn't want that! That may only be on the Susi 2, not sure. Then my daughter lost the part that smashes the garlic (prob broke off while banging it on the side of the trash can~not sure why she does that). Anyway, I wanted to try a different one. I was leaning toward the Kuhn Rikon Epicurean when I saw the Easy-Squeeze at Marshall's for $12.99. They also had the Zyliss Susi or Susi 2 (not sure, maybe both) for $8.99. I decided to try the Easy-Squeeze since it was so inexpensive and I didn't have to wait. So, I have had it for 1 week and it works well but doesn't squirt out as powerfully as the Zyliss did. The Zyliss SPRAYS the garlic, espec. when really full. The plastic handles feel a little flimsy compared to the hard metal of the Zyliss. At first I thought it was neat how the Kuhn grate flips up to clean, but there are too many little places for garlic to hide. Simple is better! It was still easy to clean until someone forgot to rinse it and garlic dried on it. Garlic was dried in little places that my scrub brush didn't reach and my nails barely reached. The Zyliss was easy to clean very quickly with the brush I use for my dishes, even IF dried on. I would just swoosh my finger around in it, using my nail if necessary, then scrub the outside with the brush. My daughter uses a knife to scrape out stuck pieces, my way is faster but you get your fingers dirty ;)
So, the Zyliss sprays out garlic better than the Kuhn Easy-Squeeze and it's a little easier to clean. I never even used the cleaning tool that came with it. Just wish it was made of stainless steel!
Also, this was used by my 3 older kids, 16, 13, and 11. The 11 yo boy ocassionally needs help pressing if really full. We used it twice a day, for our chickens and ourselves.
