The ergonomic handle of the Zyliss Smoothglide peeler, may be a little large for some with smaller hands, but if your hands are big enough, you should have pretty good control of the cutting blade, which has a normal straight cutting edge. Zyliss's Soft Skin Peeler, is a very similar product, except that it is red, and has a blade with a serrated edge. The serrated blade is much sharper, and has a fantastic bite! If you don't mind some curved edges, the Soft Skin Peeler is more reliable, and does a better job. It is simply wicked at shredding.
If you prefer straightedge cuts, this peeler is pretty good, although the blade could stand a little sharpening. The handle has a rubber grip strip that helps with traction, particularly when the handle or your hands are wet. There is also a cutting tip for digging out potato eyes, seeds, or other imperfections. Both the Smoothglide, and the Soft Skin Peeler, are eligible for Amazon's 4 for 3 program.
