Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Zyliss Silicone Spoon-SpatulaCustomer Review: Finally a "Clean" spatula Summary: 5 Stars
They finally got the design right on this one. I have seen and purchased many silcone spatulas because I like the flexibility and tempature resistance.
The problem I have with them is that after a while the seal between the handle and the spatula head is invaded by moisture and mold grows.
With this design, the opening is no where near the food and there is no chance of contamination. I highly recommed this for people concerned with cleanliness in the kitchen.
Description of Zyliss Silicone Spoon-SpatulaHas a silicone head with two angles, round and square, for scraping into difficult corners. Made of high grade silicone; will not curl in hot oil and is heat resistant to 500°F/260°C. The silicone reaches up to the handle for easy cleaning. Zyliss?s all-purpose spatula is great for flipping pancakes, turning chicken breasts, or removing fresh cookies from a hot baking sheet. The head features two different angled edges so chefs can maneuver the spatula into the rounded sides of a skillet or the corners of a baking pan. Zyliss crafted the spatula using the newest technology, including high-grade silicone for durability. Silicone resists heats up to 500 degrees F or 260 degrees C, and will not scratch cookware or curl at the sides when used in hot oil. In addition, the spatula?s long handle increases the distance between hot cookware or bubbling grease and unprotected skin. Designed for comfort, both left-handed and right-handed users can use this spatula. This versatile kitchen tool is also dishwasher-safe, and weighs 1 pound. --Jessica Reuling
