Wow, this is one great ladle. It is silicone, so it won't scratch non-stick pots and can withstand high heat. BUT, it is unlike other silicone kitchen items I have because it is very hard, not flexible. This is perfect for a ladle. The "diamond" shape helps in two ways. First, it is much easier to get almost all the liquid out of the pot, because the flat side of the ladle fits almost flush against the bottom. Second, it pours with no dripping or spilling, because the corners are like perfect spouts. Another neat aspect of this shape is that it can be used properly by both right- and left-handed cooks. And, it is much easier to control while pouring than any other ladle I have used. The angle of the handle is perfect, neither too steep nor too shallow, making the ladle easily usable in different sized pots. The handle is very comfortable and easy to hold, and it has a little notch on the back that keeps the ladle from sliding into your soup pot between servings. I really love this ladle and will give them as gifts.
