Customer Review: Not Zyliss' Best Effort

I have been a devoted Zyliss chopper fan ever since I bought my first one in 1995. For a product that gets such heavy use, they are very durable.
That said, I have to add that this particular model, the Zyliss Easy Chop Food Chopper with Smart Base, is NOT their best effort. They are trying too hard. The slanted sides of the chopper bin are not adequately wiped by those ineffective little wipers, and the results of the chopping is quite uneven. As a matter of fact, after purchasing this model and using it, I bought their less pricey model at my local kitchen store and it does a much better job and is just as hard/easy to clean. Unfortunately I failed to return the "Smart Base" model in time to get a full refund, so I guess I'll just give it to someone I don't like all that well...
I want to say that neither of these choppers can hold a candle to the first Zyliss I had. (It was the design that Slap Chop ripped off and made cheap copies of that did not hold up and performed so poorly.) That Zyliss model chopped evenly, held up under heavy use, was EASY to clean, and was entirely satisfactory. I dream of the day that Zyliss brings this model back. I'd stock up a lifetime's supply!
