This Zyliss scoop was on sale in a store and I picked it up. It was a huge success and all my adult children wanted it too!
I went to Amazon and bought it for cheaper than I got it on sale at the store!!
I bought 4 of them for my adult kids.
It cuts through all ice cream smoothly and quickly. If the ice cream is really hard, just running it under hot water one time does the trick. It is durable which is always a problem with scoops. The handle is comfortable and tough. I can't imagine having any other brand!

Had two. Current one just like the first one is seriously corroded. Scoop surface appears to be chrome but not. If it is aluminum the anodizing breaks down. A different brand that was aluminum had the same problem. My guess is anodized aluminum not suitable.
Generally Zyliss makes quality kitchen tools. This has serious flaw. Wrote them and they offered a new one free if I sent the old one in. Not worth the time and cost. The corrosion is serious over time. Maybe a teflon coating?

I just bought my Zyliss Ice Cream Scoop last night but it's already seen some use! I took ice cream out of our deep freeze (which we keep around 5 degrees Fahrenheit below zero) and was able to scoop my own ice cream! Usually my hubby has to scoop our ice cream, I'm just not strong enough...I can scoop my own now! It claims to be dishwasher safe but I have been handwashing ours right after use. Highly recommended! I plan to try a Zyliss Rubber spatula and also maybe their whisk, I love the handles, they're so comfy.Customer Review: It's all true, this ice cream scoop is AWESOME!

Please believe me, you need this ice cream scoop today. Even if you already have an ice cream scoop you think you love, you will break up with it after you use this Zyliss scoop.
The thin edge slices right through frozen ice cream with practically zero effort and creates the perfect ball of ice cream to fit into a cone or bowl. The design is genius and puts all other ice cream scoops to shame.
I've also washed mine in the dishwasher lots of times and it comes out clean and good as new.

Yes, it's just an ice cream scoop, but when you pick this baby up you realize it could be a weapon. On the other hand, future archeologists will surely think it was an object d'art or a religious implement, it's so heavy and yet so sleekly sculptured. But for now, we just use it to scoop ice cream, at which it excels. It cuts through the stuff easily and I'm managing to make roughly spherical scoops, something I've never been able to do before. Ice cream release is fine, as well. Good stuff.
