Customer Review: A great scooper - I've owned it for nearly 2 years now

Well, it says something about our times if people are so reluctant to spend all of $8.00 on an ice cream scooper that you first have to read 20+ reviews of it on Amazon. :)
I am not one of those people who has kept a log of their lifetime usage of ice cream scoopers. I bought this one, my first one, at the age of 35, back in May 2005.
The scooper does it job - I have no complaints. I've used it about 5x per week for the past 7 months on everything from half gallon containers to Ben & Jerry's and it works just fine. It looks just like when I bought it. You don't need to warm it up first or any such nonsense.
So, for those of you who are comparison shopping for ice cream scoopers, just pick one already and move on with you life! A decent ice cream scooper is now cheaper than a movie ticket, so even if yours turns out to be not be all that you thought - relax! It's only an ice cream scooper, not your life's salvation. Even if you bought a new and different ice cream scooper every year for the rest of your life, it'd still be a fraction of what you paid for the computer that you're currently using to read this review.

*UPDATE: March 2007* For those who are *still* fretting over whether or not they should purchase this product, I'm providing an update. After nearly 2 years (May 2005 - Mar 2007) of near-continuous use (3-4x/week), it still works and looks just fine! I don't own a dishwasher, so it has been handwashed this entire time. My scoop has 2 small corrosion marks in it - which I understand is common to all scoops, and probably came about in my case because I tend to submerge this in tap water for a while after using it and before actually washing it properly (the tap water, or even the ice cream, may contain salts or minerals that can, over time, erode the surface). It hasn't affected its performance in the least. So just make sure to wash it and dry it promptly, like you would for any dish, and you'll avoid any pitting! The handle and the outside of the scoop look just like new.
