I use this on my Henckel kitchen knives as well as my fillet knives for cleaning fish and it works as advertised. It has definitely put the edge back my knives and they are back working closer to their original form. I still think the Henckels were sharper out of the box, but I think this gets them as close to out of the box that you can get without sending them to a professional.Customer Review: A Little Wonder

I was first looking for an electric sharpener until I found too many bad stories about removing too much metal, marring the finish, etc. Then, I found this item and my Henckels knives have an almost factory edge again. Just pull through a few times and voila! If you're contemplating which way to go, like I was, I would suggest this one as the inexpensive alternative that works.Customer Review: This thing works best with lousy knives

I use one of these myself and have bought several for gifts. For regular old kitchen knives, you can get a razor sharp edge in 5 quick draws. Simply fantastic. The only drawback is that it took the edge off my $75 Japanese 8" chef knife and I can't get it back!! So watch out if you thing it's gonna work well with your super tough hardened steel alloy blades. NOT!!

This sharpener worked fine for touching up the edges on my knives (4 star Henckels and some random no-names). For edges that have a correct existing bevel and are dull but not abused, restores a fine edge fast. If the existing bevel is too steep or otherwise messed up this may not work (it's not a grinder). Takes some attention to get a smooth pass without chattering.Customer Review: EXCELLENT SHARPENER!!

THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT! I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO PURCHASE A NEW SET OF KNIVES, BUT THIS BROUGHT MY OLD ONES BACK TO LIFE. I HAD TO RUN THE KNIVES THROUGH THE SHARPENER MORE TIMES THAN THEY TELL YOU TO, BUT IT WORKED. MY TRUE TEST WAS WHEN I WAS CUTTING TOMATOES AND THE KNIVES SLICED RIGHT THROUGH WITHOUT MAKING MY TOMATOES A MESS. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
