We just received this sharpener. We've used it three times now. It's very simple, and effective. If the knife is dull it will take more than a few swipes to get the edge back. But after several passes through the first groove it was obvious the edge was back. Then a few passes through the second groove honed it, and we have sharp knives again. We will continue to use groove #2 (ceramic) to keep the edge on the knives and extend their life.Customer Review: Wonderful Sharpener

We cannot say nice enough things about this sharpener. A friend of ours, who is a chef, sharpens our knives for us but even he cannot sharpen some of our oldest and dullest ones a limitation this sharpener does not have. With just a few strokes on the coarse and on the fine, the knives are sharper then new and the placement of the handle makes every sharpening easy and safe.
My wife and I highly recommend this product.

While I have been cooking for many years, I consider myself an amateur at sharpening knives. Perhaps I am intimidated by the use of a steel or ceramic, since I am never quite sure if I am doing it right. This new sharpener takes the guesswork out of sharpening. They tell you to use the steel first, then the ceramic, and you just pull the knive blade through, the angle of the sharpener to the blade is pre-set, and so no intimidation!Customer Review: Sharpening is a piece of cake

This sharpener makes sharpening your Henckels knives a piece of cake. For most cases, 5-10 swipes through the ceramic sharpener is all it takes to make your knife sharp. For those times when it is necessary to re-edge the knife there is a coarser stone available. But, since it is so simple to keep the edge on frequently, re-edging shouldn't be necessary. This sharpener looks great too, and is safe for your hands. I recommend it.Customer Review: So glad I bought this!

I never knew how much I would appreciate this little sharpener until I started using it. It has become an important part of my kitchen routine in just a few short weeks. Quickly puts a nice edge on all those knives I was thinking needed professional sharpening. Comfortable to grasp and nice enough to leave out on the counter for instant access. I'll think I'll buy one for my daughter--it's such a pleasure to have sharp knives.
