Customer Review: Almost perfect

As far as doing the job it is intended to do, this bottle definitely gets an A+. I use it to store a cold protein shake I make in the morning, and 8 hours later when I go to drink the shake it is just as cool as it was out of the blender. If you want a bottle to keep a cold beverage cold, this one gets the job done perfectly.
However, it's not without its faults. The first time I ever carried the bottle I placed it into my vehicle's cup holder (a loose plastic ring type) and when I took the bottle out I noticed that there was now a permanent scuff mark in the finish of the bottle. Normally I wouldn't mind, but for something so aesthetically pleasing and priced as high as this bottle is, I was pretty disappointed to say the least. At least in the Clear Black color it's pretty hard to see the marks except under direct lighting. It would be nice if the finish could stand up to everyday wear and tear as I'm certainly not about to take an automotive buffer to a drink bottle.
The other concern I have is over the types of cold drinks this bottle is intended to hold, or lack-thereof I should say. The manual that comes with the bottle lists several different types of liquids that should not be stored in the bottle. Some of them are fairly obvious (salty drinks such as soups), but it also says to not store liquids containing dairy or fruit juice. That, to me, seems to knock a whole lot of the use of this bottle right out the window. But since the reason it gives for not using these liquids is that if left in the bottle they can spoil and create internal pressure that may damage the spout/stopper at the top of the bottle, I figure I'm fine with my milk/whey protein shakes as long as I rinse the bottle after use.
For those concerned about Teflon being used on the inside of the bottle, don't be silly. Polytetrafluoroethylene (Teflon) does not begin to break down until after 400 degrees Fahrenheit. If you're using this bottle (a bottle designed to store cold liquids) to store drinks that are at temperatures that high, Teflon should be the least of your worries in your daily life.
