Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Zojirushi BB-HAC10 Home Bakery 1-Pound-Loaf Programmable Mini BreadmakerCustomer Review: Never goes wrong Summary: 5 Stars
Before recently receiving my baby Zojirushi I had never baked a loaf of bread (although I cook constantly I'm not much of a baker). On the day it came from Amazon, carefully following a recipe from the included manual resulted in a perfect loaf--moist, even, springy. At this point, every other day (or more) for the last 3-4 weeks this machine has created wonderful 1-lb. loafs of bread. If you 1) follow a tested recipe carefully and 2) use high quality ingredients it will--simply--not let you down. This has made such a wonderful change in our home diet that I am tempted to say that it is the best appliance purchase I've made in 15 years. I don't foresee buying a loaf of sliced bread ever again.
The baby Zoji is simple to operate, extremely quiet, neat looking, and takes up little counter space. It appears to be a well-engineered machine with high-quality materials that I can expect to last for years. The 1-lb. loaf-size allows us to fire it up almost daily (honestly, the bread is so good that two can almost go through a loaf in one sitting), and if you have a small household I sincerely recommend it.
However, the included recipes are few and simple, and I moved beyond them almost immediately. So I also recommend "Bread Machine Magic" and "More Bread Machine Magic," the books I now go to for an amazing variety of delicious breads (Apricot bread, anyone? Italian tomato? Banana-oat? Orange marmalade bread? Well, you get the idea.)
Customer Review: Great Little Breadmaker! Summary: 5 Stars
I am 64 years old and had never baked a loaf of bread in my life. I have arthritis in my hands, I knew I wouldn't be able to
knead the dough. So I just bought bread at the local grocery store. But with the way the loaf's are being cut down, and sliced
so thin you can see through them, I thought I'd start looking for a bread-maker. I did a lot of checking, and read reviews. When
I saw this Zojirushi Mini Bread-maker and read the reviews, I thought this would be the perfect fit for my husband and myself.
We have limited counter space, so the size is just perfect. And a 1 pound loaf is all we need. I just got this bread-maker last
week and I've made 3 loaves so far. The first one turned out perfect and so have the other two. I can't wait to try the cakes,
and other things this little guy can make. I was expecting to have trouble the first time around, as I had never made anything
with yeast before - but I followed the directions in the recipe book that came with the bread-maker, made sure I had all fresh
ingredients and with my first try we got a delicious loaf of bread, that came out of the pan perfectly. The warm bread with
butter was delicious and the toast the next morning was just as delicious; and I could cut it to the thickness I wanted. This
little machine is wonderful, I highly recommend it for ease of making the bread to eating it!!
Customer Review: Product was a defect but customer service was A+. Summary: 3 Stars
I purchased this item because I live in an apartment and don't have enough room to store a huge bread maker. I was so excited to get this product but unfortunately, I got a defect one. The tiny metal clip piece on the bottom which holds the kneading blade to spin was missing. I couldn't figure it out at first so I had no idea why it's not spinning at all. I googled and I found out the metal piece on the bottom is missing and that's why it's not spinning at all. I was quite lucky I found it out by searching online because somehow I kept that weird looking metal piece that I found on the floor around the time I opened this product without and didn't throw it away. I managed to put the clip back on the original position using pliers, so I didn't need to return it. I told Zojirushi what I had to experience then they apologized right away so I am not giving 1 star for this product.
After that, I saw Panasonic Breadmaker SD253 Earned Good Housekeeping Seal for Wide Range for home and personal care product. I sometimes wish I got Panasonic over Zojirushi but in Japan, it's known Zojirushi customer service is WAY better than Panasonic, so I recommend everyone to get Zojirushi for a longer use.
Be careful not to loose the metal part on the bottom. It's a tiny metal clip holding the bottom which looks like a horse shoe!
Customer Review: One of the best thing we bought! Summary: 5 Stars
When I told my husband that I wanted to get this breakmaker he said that I was crazy. He thought it was way too expensive and he said that it was way too small. Well, we received it yesterday and I have made two different breads already. It's so easy, you just pour all the ingredients on the bowl in order listed and push a couple of buttons and done. Just wait for the delicious bread. My husband loved the bread and begged me to make another one today. This is a perfect size for us and the 1 lb loaf is so cute and is really way better than the store bought bread. I have done extensive research before buying this one and have read someone complaining about the hole on the bottom of the bread, which for our opinion is not a big deal. We still eat the whole entire bread and they have great texture and taste great. The instructions included are very clear and easy to understand. The blade does get stuck after I remove the bread, which came out very easy, but after the bowl has cooled I just fill it up with water and leave for like 15 min and voila! Its non stick pan is very easy to clean. Now I can't wait to try other recipes and also try the cake, jam, cookies and pasta. We are really very happy with this purchase. And it fits on our overcrowded countertop! We love it and highly recommend this breadmachine to everyone!
Customer Review: Expensive, but just right for a single or two person househould Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this breadmaker in January, 2008. I have used it 6 - 7 times. I really like it. I didn't think I would ever buy a breadmaker as I like making my own bread & I really received a lot of satisfaction from the hands on of kneading & knowing I did it. I loved the smell of baked bread, but I noticed I didn't make much bread this winter like I normally do. This machine makes a nice compact loaf & I have made pizza dough. It takes 1 3/4 hours to make pizza dough & about 3 hours to make bread. It is real easy to prepare the ingredients (it takes bread flour in most recipes) and you can have it in the machine and started in 5 minutes. The pan is real easy to clean too, but sometimes have trouble getting the bread paddle out of the bottom of the pan. I keep the breakmaker on the counter as it doesn't take up much room. I am happy with my purchase except that it was a lot of money, but to buy bread is a lot of money (over $3.00 for a loaf) so maybe I will eventually recoup in not buying bread. Plus a loaf of boughten bread went bad before we ate it all, this way, I am not wasting food & I am going green I guess with no bread packaging!!
If you don't mind spending money, this is a good machine, real easy to use, easy to clean, and overall everything everyone said.
