This product makes eating cereal easier and a little cooler. It seals cereal well. I haven't had stale cereal with this unit. It does have one major problem though. The plugs that seal the bottom where the cereal comes out are made of rubber. As you know rubber can lose its shape with time. After about a year with this product the rubber has become loose and easily pops off with the slightest touch. I have feeling I'll need to replace it eventually. So these will probably need to be replaced after a few years in my experience. But they work great until the rubber seals give out.Customer Review: The crumbler - useful gadget though

As others have pointed out, this does crush bigger-sized cereal. I haven't tried modifying the wings yet but may look into that. It's made of sturdy-enough looking plastic so I hope it lasts. It's a godsend for those days when you're too tired or in too much of a hurry to cook breakfast for the little ones in time for school. I hated having to roll up and put away my Frosted Flakes back in the pantry to maintain the freshness, and this device helps although it does crush them. We may even buy other colors (we got black to match the kitchen appliances) just for variety.Customer Review: great convenience and look--just be careful

we love this cereal dipenser, with 4 kids in the family it's great to limit the open cereal boxes and keep cereal fresh. I just wish it wish it came assembled--we followed the directions carefully but with one of them the knob got stuck the wrong way in the jar and ended up cracking the jar 1/4 inch. We put crazy glue on the spot and hasn't given us any trouble yet--I just wish it it wasn't so hard to assemble that part--our only complaint. Otherwise it works great and looks cool on our kitchen table--we've gotten lots of compliments--a great conversation piece also!Customer Review: Works, but less than ideal

This product works, but it is not by any means ideal. The two issues are that (a) the turn flaps that dispense the cereal tend to break up large or fragile cereals (e.g. Raisin Bran will become, on whole, more smaller flakes) and (b) it tends to spatter cereal everywhere BUT the bowl.
So... it's not a BAD product, but I'd spend a few extra dollars and get one that has a cork-screw for dispensing the cereal instead of littler rubber flaps. I think you'll like the results better.

I love this item, however, for my busy household it was not practical. It kept falling over everytime one of the kids touched it to get cereal. I love the fact that it had an area to catch any cereal that may fall out. The container with the cereal was too heavy for the base. I returned it and purchase the stainless steel which has a heavier base. This seems to work better. It does not have an area to catch any fallen cereal so the cereal is all over the counter. Constant tiding up.
