Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Zevro Dual Dry Food Dispenser, Black/ChromeCustomer Review: It looks heavier in the pictures but it works great Summary: 4 Stars
When I ordered this item I had imagined that it would be sturdy, like a Kitchen-Aide appliance. Well, it is not. It is quite lightweight but, as others have said, it works well on the denser cereals and crackers. Actually, I have 2 of them, one for my Kashi Go Lean (works well with the plain Go Lean but the Kashi Clusters get stuck on the way out); another holds our kids Honey Nut Cheerios perfectly. A third holds Gold Fish Crackers quite nicely and that last was supposed to be for my husband's Chex- which get smashed on the way out. He's always the difficult one- and since he likes plain Cheerios just as well, I have two Cheerios dispensers going. I wish somebody liked Fruit Loops- I bet it would look cute and colorful in there.... Never mind....
Customer Review: Great for kids! Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this so my 9 and 4 year olds could easily get their own cereal in the morning, and also have easy access to a healthy snack later in the day. This is a great tool for helping kids do it themselves. Some of the Honeycombs get a little crushed, but I've found that turning the handle gently back and forth a little bit gets them out without crushing them. Reese's Puffs and Cheerios also came out without any crushing. You have to put the caps on the bottom when not getting the cereal out in order to keep the cereal fresh. Maybe this was in the directions, but I missed it and learned the hard way. But the kids figured out the caps easily and it's not a big deal for them.
Customer Review: Good for some cereals ... Summary: 3 Stars
This dispenser is nice in that it keeps cereal fresh and crunchy - much better than an open bag rolled shut.
However, as other reviewers have noted, it crumbles some cereals. It works fine with dense cereals like cheerios, any of the sugar puffs or small pebble size flakes. However, it does damage to bigger airier cereals like Crispex and Chex, crushing more than a few of the pieces. But that's only a big deal if you care about having whole pieces.
Overall, I would recommend this if you're happy with the limitation and don't mind keeping the "airy" cereals in their boxes (or having them slightly crushed).
Customer Review: Resonable Expectations Summary: 5 Stars
I've seen a handful of reviews on this product, all of which are giving an innaccurate view of the actual product.
For what it is intended to do, it does... and does well. Portion control, eliminating boxes from cabinets IN EXCHANGE for counter space, and the goshdarned cool factor of this earn it the rating.
"Boo Hooing" beacause something DESIGNED to use counter space, uses counter space is rediculous. I'm giving it five stars. To tell the truth, I would have given four honestly, but c'mon... balancing the plebians is necessary here... so five it gets.
Does what it does, and looks good too!
Customer Review: Versatile, Saves a Lot of Space - No more cereal Boxes! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought 2 sets of the dual containers. They are convenient and have replaced an entire cabinet full of cereal boxes with the 4 retro-looking "Good Eats" style dispensers! I have rice in one container, Goldfish in another, and the other 2 hold cereal of varying brands. We just keep adding cereal to the top and the kids don't mind the minor mixing of the cereals in their bowls. It is nice to see the cereal get eaten up. We have no more boxes with small amounts of uneaten cereal all over the place! Highly Recommend if you have the counter space, or the pantry/cabinet space that is tall enough for this dispenser.
