My wife likes the Wusthof brand name, so i picked these shears up for her when she needed a new pair. She likes these a lot and the center gripper tool has been used quite a few times already. These may not be the top end shears that Wusthof make but they're a great option for the money. Lets face it, kitchen shears get abused so the average family isn't going to drop a lot of money on them. I own a pair of Henkels that came with my Pro-S set. They aren't nearly as sharp and durable as these. I love that you can take them apart for easier cleaning. That was the number one criteria I had for kitchen shears. If you treat them as well as your nice set of kitchen knives, I can't imagine them not last for a very long time. Though my only complaint would be slight rusting near the joint...even though I religiously dry them after hand washing.Customer Review: Sharp Buy!

I know my way around the kitchen & demand a lot from my tools. If you can get these on sale, then just do it. They are sturdy, ez to separate & clean (just by opening the blades all the way-dishwasher safe) and they feel good in the hand AND in the handling. I know about the "demande de le chef" shears out there, but these are strong, reliable, handy and cut a rose stem cleanly. Great shears - very sharp. Wife was not too keen on these due to past experience - was under-impressed by Wusthof's paring knife.
However she agreed this knife is great to handle and very sharp.
Only issue - seems too easy to come apart - especially when opened wide. Then I'm called in to put it together.
Haven't tried the jar opener feature - will report back when I try it.

I have always cooked with high quality (Henckel Four Star) knives, yet I never even investigated a good pair of kithcen shears. These Wusthof shears are a delight and I use them for everything kitchen... chicken, carrots, fish, etc. They work flawlessly and the fact that they easily come apart for cleaning each blade individually is wonderful. Treat yourelf to these shears and enjoy.
