I love a block with this many slots, especially eight steak knives instead of six. The swivel is not at all necessary although it doesn't cause any problems either. The block is deep, so you need the space for it; I set mine into the back closed corner of the counter space and it works nicely there. The block is built with high quality and does not put marks on my counter if moving it around like some do. I received it in a very timely manner after ordering with lots of feedback.

Description of Wusthof 25 Slot Swivel Storage Block

The Wusthof 25slot storage block holds 4 cooks knives, 8 steak knives and will store a shear, fork, and cleaver. The swivel base is very handy with island cooking kitchens. Safely store your knives in a safe and convenient storage block.
Made to host Wusthof?s premium cutlery, this chunky beechwood storage block holds up to 25 knives for the ultimate home prep center. Ideal for use on a center island, the block also swivels 360 degrees for knife access from any location. The slots include space for up to four different chef?s knives, a cleaver, a steel, a forged carving fork, and 10 other smaller knives of assorted sizes and purposes. The block?s base has eight slots to hold a full set of steak knives with the Wusthof logo branded into the wood just below.
