Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of World Cuisine Silicone Nonstick 16-3/8-by-11-5/8-Inch Baking MatCustomer Review: Amazing Product Summary: 5 Stars
I received it and used it right away. Cookies bake perfectly, and cleaning was a breeze. Just a wet paper towel and ready for next time. My daughter is delighted as I keep baking cookies. Took away 90% of the work. Added to the fun.
Must mention that mat gets really hot, maybe because it has fiberglass inside, so need to be careful. what I do is take it directly to the sink and let water run on it.
Also paper that came with it states its good for 3000 uses....thats a lot for under 6$.
Customer Review: I love this product! Summary: 5 Stars
This silicone mat is fabulous! I use it under items I'm baking. I also freeze individual pieces of produce to keep them from sticking together and I use it under them (mushroom slices for example) before putting them in the freezer. Then, once frozen, they just slide off of the mat and I am able to freeze them together in a bag.
Don't know why I waited so long to purchase one of these! I no longer have to use parchment paper to keep things from sticking. It will be a big money saver.
Customer Review: Similar to Silpat Minus the Silpat Price! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for the price more than anything. I had previously had a silicone mat that I bought from a big box store and I thought I loved it until I got this World Cuisine one. Wow! On this one my cookies literally slid right off the pan onto my cooling rack. And it was a breeze to clean unlike the less silky feeling mat I had previously bought. The World Cuisine mat has the feel of a new non-stick frying pan. I absolutely love it and I'm buying more right now!!
Customer Review: Made in China Summary: 1 Stars
I'm returning this because it's made in China. I have no problems with things made in China. I generally like Chinese-made goods but I'm not sure baking cookies on this silicone-thing in a 400 degree oven will keep my food safe. It's not just made of silicone. It's got filler ingredients. It's no surprise that the country of origin is not mentioned on Amazon or World Cuisine's website. I think I'll stick with the French-made Silpat sold for $20.
Customer Review: I'm a new silicone fan! Summary: 5 Stars
I've wanted silicone baking sheets since I first learned about Silpat. At this price, I was able to buy two. These worked beautifully for my holiday baking (at least seven recipes and a few hundred cookies). This baking mat will pay for itself quickly as I no longer have to buy so much parchment paper. Also, they seemed to help my cookies brown more uniformly.
I've had no problem with outgassing.
