For me these replace a long line of replacements for my stovetop shakers that never quite measured up to the old aluminium ones of the 60s and 70s that most of us threw away when we figured out aluminium wasn't such a good thing to be cooking with, were simply too pitted up from the corrosiveness of the salt or mistakenly put in the dishwasher too many times. Always had problems finding a set that didn't have holes that clogged up, that the tops would screw off easily to refill, or that didn't simply crack open leaving sharp edges on the tops. I am very pleased with these and no longer have to fight to season my cooking and my only wish would be for a more rounded handle instead of the strap type handle.
