I picked up the Plasma 5000 over the weekend for my small apartment as my girlfriend suffers very badly from cat dander and dust allergies, usually to the point that it makes it hard for her to sleep as I have a cat.

Set the unit going at half speed overnight in my 12x12 bedroom and both of us slept straight through the night without her having any trouble at all. I didn't think that I had any allergies, but now we have this air cleaner I have noticed that I snore a lot less and don't get anywhere near as stuffed up as I used to.

On 'turbo' mode it is quite noisy but pumps a lot of air out fast so is good for clearing a small room quickly. The clean air pumps out of the top of the unit and is sucked in through the front so it's ideal for tucking up against a wall or piece of furniture.

I paid $236 for mine and so far feel that it is worth every penny for my small living space.
