Customer Review: Invaluable Tool For Decorating Cakes

This cake decorating turntable has a simple but effective design and does everything it should do -- and all for a reasonable price. The turntable spins easily and has an option so it locks into place leaving the decision for it to rotate or not at the user's discretion. The height is perfect - elevated just enough to provide a clear view of the entire cake with fingertip control which makes embellishing the cake with a pastry tube and tip a breeze. The non-slip rubber pieces (unnecessarily bright green) add an extra level of stability for the turntable and base. Although it is not a commercial turntable, it also isn't priced like one. This turntable is designed for the home baker.
The turntable is 12 inches in diameter which is easily large enough for the most common eight, nine and ten inch layer cakes and basic tube, bundt and angel food cakes. With the use of a cardboard cake round, the cake can be easily slid on and off the turntable. I am delighted with this purchase and other than switching the color of the non-slip pieces from garish green to something more subtle, I wouldn't change a thing.
