Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Wilton 2105-5038 Giant Cupcake PanCustomer Review: Perfect 1st Birthday Cake Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this giant cupcake pan for my son's 1st birthday cake and it turned out great. I am thankful for the reviews with great ideas on how to bake the cake since both sides are not the same size. Also, be sure if you are using a box cake to purchase two because one is not enough. You will have some left over from two boxes - I used the left over to make 6 jumbo cupcakes (slightly larger than regular cupcakes). I also enjoyed the many pictures of everyone's giant cupcake and I am including my picture too. Hope you enjoy!
Customer Review: Ask Rone' Summary: 4 Stars
This is a cute pan. However, like a few of the other reviewers have reported, the pan cooks uneven. The top cooks much faster than the bottom. In fact, I had to finally just remove the top and replace the bottom back in the oven to finish cooking. The cupcake is much smaller looking in person than it appears in advertisements. Although it can easily fit a standard box of cake, you may want to consider baking more than one for a standard party. Nevetheless, it's a fun pan and I look forward to experimenting with it!
Customer Review: Does exactly what it says Summary: 5 Stars
My wife bought this cake pan for a birthday party and we've made about 3 cakes so far with it. The non-stick surface works perfectly and all you need to do to get the cake out is turn the pan upside-down and the cakes fall right out. We agree with other reviewers that filling the "top" portion more than the "base" portion of the pan with cake mix helps them to cook evenly. To make the pieces fit perfectly some excess need to be cut from the over risen top and bottom of the respective bottom and top peices.
Customer Review: The bigger the cupcake, the better! Summary: 4 Stars
I made this yesterday for Valentine's and it came out great. I used two boxes of cake mix and with the leftover batter ended up making a few mini heart cakes. I baked it for 60 minutes at 325 degrees, let it cool for awhile, flipped it over and then cut off the lumps to make a clean straigt edge for them to lay atop eachother. Decorating was a little bit of a challenge because of the ridges and I didn't really liked the piped look. But with some patience, it got done and my family loved it.
Customer Review: Fun and easy to use Summary: 5 Stars
I loved using this pan for my son's first birthday; it was a lot of fun watching him dig into this huge cupcake. I was glad that I read reviews on the pan first because the cake turned out perfectly the first time. Here are the two important tips I learned from my research before purchasing the pan:
1.) Make sure to fill both sides only 3/4 full
2.) Place the side of the pan with the top of the cupcake in the front of the oven (it bakes faster)
Enjoy this great pan!
