Customer Review: Expensive and only worked 6 months.

Whirlpool WFW9400SU 27" Duet Front-Load Washer with 4.0 cu. ft. Capacity
Bought the 9200 model last September with matching dryer and it stopped working correctly in March. I am waiting now for my 5th service call in 2 months. I wish I had never bought this expensive piece of junk. I spend more money and time to get my laundry done and have a big paper weight in the basement while I wait for Whirlpool to fix it. I am just SICK about this purchase. Don't make the same mistake. Buy LG.

Customer Review: Execellent washer / Mold issues a big concern
Summary: 2 Stars

PROS ::: >> Quality wash >> Large capacity w/ *LARGE* door opening >> High energy efficiency >> Low water consumption >> Enables washing more delicate clothing since there's no agitator.
CONS ::: >> MOLD build on and around the rubber door sleeve!!! We have to leave the door open and regularly clean it out. >> Can't specify default temperature >> Soak cycle doesn't load detergent, etc. and doesn't have any next step options. (Soaks and then sits.) >> Can't custom control cycle times. (The computer has a range for what it allows based on wash type.)

Customer Review: Seal leaked after 1.5 years. Unusable
Summary: 1 Stars

Our washer started sounding like a 747 was landing in our laundry room. We normally don't buy the extended warranties, but I'm glad we did. Turns out the seal leaked. It is unsafe to use as the barrel can come flying out. It's costing too much to rebuild, so the warranty company is going to replace it w a comparable one...I"m fighting w them on the details of that. Anyway, consider getting the extended warranty and if it sounds really loud on spin, have it check out to be safe.

Customer Review: broke in 3 months
Summary: 1 Stars

I got this washer 3 months ago brand new and we found out 2 weeks ago that it needs a completely new control panel. They had to order the part, gave me the date of two weeks later (last Friday)for arrival to fix it, then the part never arrived. When I called, they said it was backordered until possibly the end of the month, maybe longer. I am very disappointed with the machine and of course the fact that I can't do any laundry. We're returning it as soon as we can.

Customer Review: Whirlpool Duet WWFW9400SW Washing Machine-poor review
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased the Whirlpool Duet WWFW9400SW Washer and Dryer Combo. We have had it less than a month and the door latch on it has broken. The whirlpool repairman stated that he does not carry the part and it will need to be ordered. We have already waited 4 days for a service call, and now need to wait 12 more days until our next appointment. So far I am very disappointed that a $1000 appliance can't even last 1 month. At this point I cannot recommend this product.
