I don't understand what the other person was talking about when they said it doesn't work like a crock pot. Of course it doesn't work exactly like a crock pot. This is a slow cooker not a crock pot. A crock pot usually gives you a Low & Hi setting. On the slow cooker it's adjustable and that's why I like it. I have used a West Bend slow cooker for 19 years. I still have it and it works great. With the holidays right around the corner I wanted an additional one and Amazon has the best price when buying through their store with the free shipping they are offering. When you work at a job all day, it's great to get home and find dinner is about ready. I cook about 4 meals a week in the slow cooker. Because it works so well, I decided to stick with West Bend. I ordered this Monday morning at 3 AM and it arrived at my door Tuesday morning at 10 AM. Talk about service! AMAZON.com Rocks!Customer Review: Love it, Love it!!!!

I would like to say I was searching high and low for this and found it right here on Amazon, but I didn't. In fact, I found it at a Navy Base thrift store and paid $2 for it....after being away from home for 10 months and living without a kitchen, this thing has become my best friend. I constantly have something either cooking in it or stored in the fridge. I have had some issues with regulating the heat but that's because I didn't get the manual with it. I only gave it 4 stars because the handles get VERY hot and there is not an off switch. I also think it should shut off after a length of time. I have fallen asleep after having it cooking for 3 or 4 hours and then slept the night away only to find that everything is still cooking away.......otherwise, great product. I wanted to add my review so people would know that even buying used, it's a great bargain/product.

This is a nice slow cooker, it does what is intended to do. However, it should have been made a little more sturdy. The removeable crock is nice and then you can use the base as a griddle. The metal crockpot is a little flimsy -- thin walls and the rim on the glass cover tends to bend. You have to watch that you do not bang it against anything to put a dent in the crockpot or bend the rim on the glass cover. This is supposed to be an improved design -- I have an older model West Bend with thicker walls and a thick plastic lid that can withstand dropping, banging, etc. Lesser quality, higher price seems to be what the consumer has to expect. All in all, it does its job and does it well, and the fact that the crock comes off its base and then can be used as a small griddle is a big plus for cleaning and those of us in studio apartments with limited kitchen space.Customer Review: Love this product

I previously owned a slow cooker like this one but after 15 years the
non stick finish was gone and food would stick to the bottom, so I decided
it was time to replace it. I brought a different kind the second time around, one with a removable stone crock because none of our local stores
had one like my first one. That was a big mistake. I didn't like anything about the new one, that is when I decided to shop online and see if I could find one like my first one. I did and I couldn't be happier with it. The features that I love about it are the 1-5 heat settings, the non stick finish that is so easy to clean and the fact that you can use it on your stovetop. I would highly recommend this product. If you are shopping for a slow cooker and your not sure what to buy, I assure you that you won't be disappointed, it is well worth the money.

This is an awesome slow cooker! For best results, do not wash it in the dishwasher or scrape it with metal utensils, as it will chip the coating on the cooker's inside. Learned that the hard way with my first one. I now hand wash it (which is easy, because of the non-stick coating). It was an awesome wedding gift, and when I wanted to replace it (not because it had stopped working, but because I had scratched the interior so badly), I was so relieved to find it on amazon, as I could not find it in the stores. It cooks a little faster and hotter than a typical slow cooker, so keep that in mind. I never cook on high with this slow cooker, as I do not want my food to stick to the pan or get burnt. But this is one reliable, workhorse of a slow cooker, and great for cooking easy, slow cooked meals. So glad they still sell it and hope they continue to.
