Customer Review: Always Hot--Great for tea, not for safety

I purchased this product about 6 months ago from a.com and my entire office has been enjoying tea and cocoa since. It doesn't reach boiling, but is MARVELOUS for all day beverages.ONLY PROBLEM (and a big one)--there is NO safety off on this hot pot. The ONLY way to turn it off is to yank it from the wall socket. If left plugged in, it will just continue to heat and heat into the evening.
This is a huge problem for the busy, the stressed, or the forgetful. THIS PRODUCT NEEDS A SAFETY OFF!!
Description of West Bend 53635 5-Cup Plastic Hot Pot, White
The electric hot pot is easy to use and keeps water hot as long as it is plugged in. Simply fill the container up (with no more than 5 cups of water) and plug it into a 120-volt AC outlet. In about 10 minutes water will be suitably hot for tea and other steaming beverages or snacks. The heat-resistant handle, base, and cover ensure safety from burns, and the turn-to-secure lid prevents boil-over. The one drawback of this otherwise useful hot pot is the noise it makes--the loud heating mechanism switches on and off periodically, which can become tiresome. --Rebecca WrightSmall Appliances
