Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Waring WMK300A Pro Professional Stainless-Steel Belgian Waffle Maker

Customer Review: Gourmet breakfast at home
Summary: 5 Stars

Being so accustomed to eating the frozen Eggo waffles at home, I never knew that breakfast waffles could taste this great.

Construction is solid with a stainless steel constructed base that has rubber grips for stability. I use this on our center island in the kitchen. The drip pan is great for eliminating excessive mess on the counter top. The hand is plastic but solid in construction. The pan is constructed of a non-stick surface and is deep for adding additional ingredients like chocolate chips, blueberries, rasberries, chopped strawberries or anything else - obviously not in the same waffle!

The operation of this unit is simple: Pour in the batter, set the level of the browning knob, and listen for the ready beep tone. The non-stick pan allows for easy clean up.

The waffles come out great every time, cooking evenly and fluffy. No more frozen waffles at the breakfast table!

This one is a keeper.

I highly recommend this product.

Customer Review: Great while it lasts
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased a Waring Pro WMK 300 several years ago from Costco and was very pleased with it--I had no problems with it at all. After a house fire, the waffle maker was one of the first appliances I replaced. However, the replacement waffle baker I purchased this time in 2008 from Macy's lasted less than 2 years--just past the 1 year manufacture's warranty. The screws that hold the plastic hinges together are falling out---the whole thing actually falls apart when I rotate it---the plastic could not withstand the high heat from the waffle maker and became brittle. I am very disappointed with the quality of this appliance. To have this Waring Pro WMK 300 last less than 2 years---and cost 5 times as much as an old waffle iron that was still going strong after 25 years----is very disheartening. I have seen the double waffle makers produced by Waring Pro--but considering my experience with this one, why would I want to spend that much money to perhaps get another piece of junk in less than 2 years?

Customer Review: Unproven Quality, Not what it says it is.
Summary: 1 Stars

Out of many products purchased from Amazon, this is the first to be of inferior quality.
I have experience with 7 other waffle makers made by the same company. I bought this without reading the reviews. They are dead on. I expected a stainless steel unit-it wasn't (which they make) and similar quality to those sold at Sam's Club or BJs. The later have longer fixed handles and are much easier to use. This unit does not heat evenly, gets stuck when opening and is less quality than those available elsewhere. We use these for church and private home activities. The refund policy for this unit is poor, we are just 6 days out of limit. I will not purchase this exact unit again and will go back to Sam's & BJs. They cost $49.95. The average life of the better quality (Sam's / BJs) unit is about 500-1000 waffles and the food-service unit (sells for about $300) lasts far longer and can be used all day long without trouble. This unit is good for a boat anchor and nothing more.

Customer Review: Love it!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought the Waring WMK300A Pro Professional Stainless Steel Belgian Waffle Maker for my husband after his last wafflemaker (different brand) dies. My husband is very picky about his appliances and spent months trying to find one he liked. I got tired of waiting so bought him this one so we could eat waffles again. He loves it.
Heats nicely. Waffles come out perfectly golden brown and it doesn't take long to cook, and its super easy to clean. It beeps to let you know when a) it's preheated and b) when the waffles are done so there's no guesswork. The instructions recommend against using Pam or a similar cooking spray to avoid damaging the unit so we use an oil mister with it. We bought the Stonewall waffle mix to go with it and the recipe is perfect for two waffles.
It does take up a lot of storage space but that's not an issue for us because we use it often enough that we just keep it out on a section of our kitchen table/counter space.

Customer Review: Christmas gift hit for the wife
Summary: 5 Stars

My wife loves the flip over waffle makers so I bought this one for her for Christmas. What it hit it made this Christmas morning as we followed the instructions and pre-heated the unit and I brushed on some vegetable oil on the surfaces as instructed. She had the batter mixed by then and used the little batter measuring cup supplied and we had in just a couple of min's some really nice brown crusted waffles. The timer beeps to let you know when the waffle is cooked and the waffle maker wiped clean no problems at all. The wife loved it.

The waffle maker is sized just right and the pockets in the waffles are deep.
The timer worked great with the beeps that tell you when it's ready are wonderful.
We set the timer on #4 which the book recommended and they cooked perfect.
It's easy to clean and the measuring cup that came with it is thick plastic , not a thin fragile cup easily broken.
The wife loves it.
