Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Waring WMK300A Pro Professional Stainless-Steel Belgian Waffle MakerCustomer Review: Comparison with Villaware Uno belgian waffle maker Summary: 4 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
The Waring Pro makes pretty great waffles out of the box (although the first few tend to stick, so oil it up really well when you use it for the first time). It makes light, fluffy waffles, with nice, deep holes to catch the syrup or whatever else you want to put on top. Definitely superior to the Villaware in a side by side comparison with the same waffle recipe, as the Villaware waffles were heavier and tougher.
The Waring would be a 5-star waffle maker were it not for the fact that it's just about impossible to store. I leave mine on the counter, where at least it looks nice, but it takes up a lot of room. If you have a large kitchen and are willing to take the time to make yeasted waffles, then this is a great waffle maker. If you're just going to make regular, baking-powder leavened waffles, then a regular waffle maker that takes up less space is probably a better bet.
Customer Review: Pro waffle maker - NOT! Summary: 3 Stars
We have had ours for less than a year and it has seen light use. Perhaps a half dozen perfect waffles every month or two. Our office decided to do a waffle breakfast so I took the Waring Pro to work to strut its stuff.
The breakfast crowd numbered around fourteen. Although three waffle irons were going the "chef" decided to use the Waring exclusively because of the superior waffles it was turning out. This lasted until the machine had enough and actually had a partial meltdown. The machine was not mistreated other than put in continuous use on medium setting for probably thirty minutes to an hour if that can be considered mistreating.
For light home use I can recommend the Waring. For heavier applications beware. For true "professional" applications forget it and realized the professional (pro) in its name is for marketing purposes only. Professional waffle irons are 10X the price.
Remember you get what you pay for.
On that note I ordered a KitchenAid pro line waffle maker today.
Cheers,

Customer Review: Waffles IN demand Summary: 4 Stars
During a trip out west and staying at Econo-motel with continental breakfast, enjoyed making several for our breakfast. Compared and Bought this unit and waffle mix. Works fine. "Thought" this was a 8+ inch maker. Is more like 7.5 or 7 diameter. Can't remember ever seeing size in description.
It's fun to crank out waffles and watch everyone gobble them up. I am always eating nice, hot, FRESH-made waffles, since my sons have been eating the frozen extras before I can get to them. Making double batches. 28 waffles and counting. Need about 70 more waffles to break even $$$ with store-bought production type waffles. Still tweaking the batter recipe.
ADJUSTMENTS (personal preferences):
RE-engineered the handle to lock down (in other direction) when the iron is closed (unable to open) in cooking position. Keeps the waffle iron from 'flopping' opening during storage. I painted some arrows (direction of turn) on the handle, too! RE-bent the tray to store with the cup (between iron and base). Haven't got into the lights, yet.
Customer Review: Great value with decent results Summary: 4 Stars
I am a huge fan of Waring's commercial kitchen appliances, so when shopping for a home waffle maker I didn't think twice when comparing products to decide to go with a Waring, however it was difficult to decide on which model to go for to get the best value but I'm glad I chose the WMK300A.
This waffle iron is easy to use, flips just like the commercial versions and is easy to clean. I wouldn't use the waffle mix recipies that come with it, I've found several much better recipies and true Belgian mixes on the market (the key is seperating your eggs and beating the egg whites, also never over-mixing).
The only downsides to this iron is the heat that it produces. I was a little dissapointed that even on the highest temp and doneness setting that I still had to sit and watch the steam (just like old fashioned irons) to ensure the waffle was done, otherwise if you take it out when the thing beebs that it's done, you'll have a flimsy waffle. At least the temp and cook times are consistent, even if you can't believe the beebs.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I LOVE this waffle iron. It makes it extremely easy to make perfect waffles every time. No more waffles stuck to the iron or burnt to a crisp. Just add the batter (it overflows if there is too much or you can make "spider" waffles by putting in just a little), close the lid, flip over, and wait for the beep. I did have to adjust the timer for my "secret" recipe (Golden Malted Pancake & Waffle Flour, Original, 33-Ounce Cans (Pack of 3)), but that was all I had to do to ensure perfect waffles EVERY time.
I was concerned about clean-up as you don't wash the waffle iron, but after many uses the grids still look new. No problems at all with sanitation. Highly recommended.
