Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Waring JEX328 Health Juice ExtractorCustomer Review: True "mid-level" juicer Summary: 5 Stars
I don't understand people bashing about "inefficinency" of this juicer!! This is a $70 juicer and it should be ttreated as such. It does the best job when compared with any other juicer in this price range. You can not comapre apples to oranges.
Being said that, this juicer works for us. We juice carrots, apples and celery. Since this juicer does not have "pulp-eject" and/or "external pulp collector", you can juice almost 3/4 container full of juice before you have to empty out the pulp. If you push the fruits slowly then you can go as much as full container of juice without emptying the pulp. The reason is: After container is 3/4 full, the accumulated pulp kind of touches the internal strainer so if you press hard then the excess pressure slows down the motor noticably. So be gental after 3/4 container and you can go all the way till contrainer is full!!
Cleaning of internal strainer requires bigger stiff brush. Included brush is too small.
We do not put any part of this juicer in dish washer.
The juice has slight hint of fine pulp but I personally like it that way.
Good juicer all around for the price. If you want "the perfact juicer" then be ready to spend upward of $200.
Customer Review: Excellent Product For The Money Summary: 4 Stars
I labored to get as many reviews read as possible when I decided to get a juicer. I knew that I did not want to go high end for my first juicer, because I did not know if I would get into the 'Juicing Lifestyle'. Therefore the the really expensive ones were out of the question. When it came to the lower end models, this one caught my eye due to it's high ratings, and it has definitely delivered. What someone purchasing one of these models HAS to remember is that it is a lower end juicer, and although it does an excellent job, it is what it is. No, it will not give you perfectly dry pulp, and yes, you do have to cut your larger fruit up to get it down the tube, no, it doesn't have silent operation, but if someone was spinning me at that RPM, I don't think that I'd be quiet either! Sometimes the seal at the bottom of the juice catcher leaks a few drops. If you are so hard up for money that 3 extra apples is going to upset you, then you need to wait until your situation changes to get into this.
All that being said, for the money, it's excellent, and it's a great starter juicer. I would definitely recommend this juicer to any of my friends that are looking to start juicing but haven't made a decision about it yet.
Customer Review: Clean - Relatively Quiet - Pulp Free! Summary: 5 Stars
It's always dangerous to buy any kind of kitchen gadget for your wife, especially for mother's day. In this case, it was a very wise move. My wife loves it, and she's juicing everything.
This product deals with pulp flawlessly. It juices quickly and relatively quietly. The only thing I see missing with this juicer is a thorough recipe book because the first glass of orange juice I had was probably the most rancid thing I have ever put in my mouth. I think this has more to do with the fact she juiced the oranges, rind and all, with no added sugar and less the capabilities of the device.
The fact that it can "juice" and orange rind is pretty damned amazing, and I warn you that it TASTES LIKE ORANGE RIND!
My wife loves it. She uses it daily, and we've had it for about a month. She's getting pretty good at it, too. I highly recommend this juicer for several reasons. It has her enjoying healthy alternatives and expressing culinary creativity. Most importantly, it does all this without waking up the entire house or having her complaining about how messy it is.
Long story short, Clean - Relatively Quiet - Pulp Free.
5-Stars!
Customer Review: Pretty good juicer Summary: 3 Stars
This is my second juicer. My first was one of the first generation Juiceman Jr's. I used that for a good five or six years. When my wife asked me what I wanted for our anniversary I decided on a new juicer. The Waring is a pretty good juicer overall. Compared to my first juicer it leaves a little to be desired. Both the Waring and my first Juiceman Jr operated in much the same fashion, right down to a similar cutting basket. When I would make, say carrot-juice with the Juiceman Jr I would get juice and little dry pieces of carrot "sawdust". The "sawdust" from the Waring is a little wet. Also, with the Juiceman the pulp ejects while juicing so I got to juice more before stopping to clear the machine (after three or four carrots with the Waring). The Waring is definately easier to clean. Also, like some other reviewers my Waring does have a tendency to leak around the top while juicing. Bottom line, I like the Waring. It does what I need it to do. I might have gotten another Juiceman Jr but based on the reviews for that machine it seems their quality has slipped. I'm happy with my Waring but there is definately room for improvment.
Customer Review: Decent for a first juicer Summary: 3 Stars
This is my first juicer and I am not completely disappointed in it, but there are some problems. First the good parts:
1) Easy to clean for a juicer.
2) does a decent job with fruits or vegetables.
3) very good value for the money.
4) not exceptionally loud.
The problems:
1) it froths the juice too much and that much oxygen can remove important nutrients.
2) it is loud, not overly loud, but a little too loud.
3) it does not cut up all of the fruit or veggies and you can find decent size chunks in the juicer that should have been ground up.
4) it leaks from the bottom of the juicer sometimes for no obvious reason.
5) the inside of the juicer easily clogs and the juice stops coming out so there can be a lot of loss.
6) the pulp is still very wet and with fruit you can see a lot of lost juice.
This is not a bad machine, but i firmly believe it would be better to spend the extra money and get a better juicer. Adequate for a beginner, but if you plan on being serious about juicing spend the extra money!
