I'm a crushed ice junkie and eat it all day at work. I used to have a frig with crushed ice in the door; that went with my ex. Needed something that crushed ice not shaved it, and my blender just made snow. This Waring Pro IC70 is the bomb! The ice chunks are of varying size, none more than the size of regular finger nails. And it's SO quiet. My blender made terrible noises, but this ice crusher is very smooth. And it crushes the ice faster than I can get the cubes out of the ice tray and into the crusher! Get this one. Straight to the point
It crushed ( in little bitty bits ) enough ice without any troubles for a Superbowl party for 11 people. Nuff said...the performance was terrific
It's a bit tall, and does not fit on the countertop under the cabinets with the clear plastic ice holder attached. I have to remove the holder to make it fit...that cost 1 star for storage when not in use. The clear plastic ice holder on top is not shown attached in the product photo

I was looking for something that made crushed ice like I had in the hospital. This is close. It's nice to chew on compared to big ice cubes, and not slushy like what my smoothie maker makes. I thought I could send the crushed ice back through a second time to get the bigger pieces smaller, but that doesn't usually work. It's a nice middle ground between ice cubes and slush.
Regarding other reviews about the ice getting stuck in the top, I don't use huge sized ice cubes to begin with and a little nudge and it's fine.

Some reviewers thought the price was high, but if you burned out two or three cheaper models as we have, you would know this is a reasonable price. It does not have many frills. The on-off toggle is right off the hardware store shelf. But it still looks fine in a kitchen. The ice chunk size is not as fine as my wife's favorite restaurant, but it is perfectly acceptable. Capacity: for a big party you will need to buy ice, but this is terrific for a small party. It does make some noise but it is quite tolerable. We are very pleased.Customer Review: Dieter's Delight!!

I love this machine. Eating crushed ice is a satisfying alternative to other snacks. I can still crunch something and add no calories while hydrating nicely. I am losing pounds and my skin looks great! I haven't had any of the problems described in other reviews (jamming, ceasing to operate) and I use this puppy 2-3 times per day. The ice chunks are the perfect size -- not big enough to do any damage to teeth. It does take up counter space, but it's a small sacrifice for all the fun. Get it. You will not be sorry.
