Customer Review: Not even woth the ridiculously low price I paid.

I bought this unit hoping to upgrade the old cheapo slicer I already have. Unfortunately, I have nothing good to say about this model. The slide bushings are cheap soft plastic and get hung up on the slide bar. The cross slide has the same problem. The slide bar itself is a light weight tube with plastic end caps. Not rigid enough to be a good slide bar. The suction cup feet do not stick to granite countertops. The base is too close to the counter to fit a plate underneath, so you will need a large cutting board to keep juice and the meat slices off the countertop. The motor is weak and after a few minutes of cutting, it starts to smell like an electrical fire.
Once I was done cutting, it was time to clean it. The manufacturer believes this thing can be cleaned without removing the blade or the slide platform. There is meat packed into every crevice and corner with no way to get at it without taking it apart. To do this requires hand tools. While going through the slide platform, I realized the sheet metal construction creates small voids where the different sheet parts are welded together. There is no cleaning these areas. Whatever gets in there will stay in there.
The thickness plate and its adjustment mechanism do not come apart even with hand tools. This mechanism has small particles of meat and juice under it and I cannot get it out. All I can do is to spray it out with bleach and even then, Im not sure how effective that is. This is a major fail for this design.
Overall; a huge disappointment.
