Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Walk Fit Orthotic Size BCustomer Review: Horrible and Total Waste of Money Summary: 1 StarsHorribly uncomfortable and unable to wear for any length of time. Hard plastic cuts into feet and arches ached dreadfully after walking for only 5 minutes. Made second attempt to wear them days later and the pain was worse as my foot never recovered from the first attempt. Padding the hard plastic by wearing thick socks did not help. Flaws also noted in plastic.
Customer Review: Experiment Summary: 5 StarsI almost sent mine back until I went online and followed the advise of some of the people having success with these. It's so important to pull up the existing padding in the shoe and put the orthotic UNDER it or remove it altogether if it has arch support. If you need to replace the arched padding you will need to buy flat padding to go over i., You can find it at Walmart or any drug store. In some shoes I like to put flat gel padding over the orthotic and then thin flat padding over that! You may need more padding than what the original shoe provided. I wear my orthotics in all my shoes now and it seems to have corrected the pain problem. I can walk much longer and more intensely than my younger counterparts. Foot pain has disappeared completely! If the shoe doesn't accommodate them, I don't buy them or get rid of them! Hope this helps those having trouble with them or those that might be afraid to try after reading the bad reviews.
Customer Review: Buyer beware, bad product, bad service Summary: 1 StarsBuyer beware. I ended up with 2 pairs of this total junk of a product by mistake. Since I had two pairs- I tried returning the one (NEVER EVEN OPENED) with no reply, no help, and return from the company.
Bottom line the product is REALLY really thick. It's pretty hard, and it didn't help me. I tried to break in these orthodics - I really needed some arch support as I had heal pain and arch pain. It wasn't even like I saw some hope after wearing the product after some time. They were awful and remained awful. I feel like I completely wasted my money.
A co-worker had mentioned these you might be able to 'grind' and shape to your own foot - which then might be an advantage. I don't want to cut and 'grind' my own though. It's certainly not what I had purchased these for.
Recently Dr. Scholls came out with a women's sport type insole. It's no orthodic - but it's worth the $10 unlike this product. The Dr. Scholls has a gel type soft cushion in the front and heel of the foot AND it had a tiny itty bitty type arch support. Again - better than nothing - and has actually helped my sore feet. Still looking for the perfect one, but found something else that gave relief.
Do yourself a favor and read as many reviews prior to purchasing this walk fit product. It might work for some - but didn't work what-so-ever for my feet.
Customer Review: Very good product, if you use it correctly! Summary: 5 StarsMany people have problems with these orthotics being uncomfortable, however, it's all in how you use them. I got these as recommended from my chiropractor and he told me the secret.
The key is to use them in a shoe with completely flat coushioning, or remove the layer of coushioning and replace it with the Walk-fit. The orthotic is designed to provide just the right amount of support by itself. When added on top of other coushioning it can be too much for your foot.
I had this problem at first using them in my running shoes and they made my arches sore. Then, I tried them in some Hushpuppies I have with very flat soles and basically no built-in arch support, and they were immediately comfortable with no break-in required. Now I can't live without them.
Find a shoe with flat coushioning (I've heard old converse all-starts are great), or remove your shoe's coushion, and you'll love this product. Another thing to check is make sure you get the right size. The orthotic should go from the back of your heel to just under the bottom edge of the ball of your foot. I found that I needed the size 9 to 9.5, when I generally wear larger shoes than that. So these may run a bit small. Also try the different thicknesses of coushions provided with your Walk-fit orthotics to get the right fit for you.
Customer Review: I love them :) Summary: 5 StarsI'm actually looking to buy a few more pairs, cause I use mine in all my shoes! have to take out the bottom cushion of the shoes, maybe thats why they didn't work for others?.. I have a very high arch, so I use the high insert. it was uncomfortable for 2 days, but after that I hate wearing shoes without them!
