this little heater is not inexpensive to purchase but it works as well as those twice and even larger in size. The porcelain "chips /wafers" , whatever , serve as the heating element instead of wire resistors as in other plug-in fan type heaters and I have not compared electrical draw but it's small, quiet, and it heats a space like much larger heaters would. I am very pleased with the product and would buy another if I didn't live in such a small space. Perfect for instantly heating your bathroom and it also has a temperature setting so you can use it to regulate heat in your space just as you would any temperature controlled heating device.Customer Review: Awesome little heater!!

This is absolutely one of THE best heaters ever! I purchased this heater last year and absolutely love it! Two things that I was looking for in a heater were a tip-over switch and a thermostat...and this heater has both of those things. The excellent customer service was a bonus. I had a few questions and called the 800 number and got a live person (something you can hardly get these days). I noticed that two people wrote that their heaters caught fire, but maybe they didn't clean the filter? It has a dust filter in the back that you have to clean every once in a while. Anyway, I love this heater and I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone!Customer Review: not for garage

I tried 3 other space heaters (all 1500 watt) before I purchsed this unit. I even called Pelonis for their recommendation. This unit was by far the most expensive of all that I tried, I paid $90 I believe. I don't believe this unit puts out any more heat than the other fan driven space heaters I bought. This unit may subsidize heat in a bedroom, but it will not warm a garage space at all. It will only warm the parts of you it is blowing on, which need to be within 3 feet of the unit. The unit appears to be manufactured well, I have not put it through any abuse yet, so I would recommend it only for extra heat in an enclosed area.Customer Review: Keeps on ticking

We have two older Model HC-452S units that work perfectly. We brought these on our first snow-bird trip this winter thinking the two would be needed, not true. Temperatures in Texas in the 20s and only used one unit to maintain any temp. desired. Unit cycled perfectly to high speed fan and heat to no heat and slow speed fan. We don't need our on-board furnace which means more fuel for heating water and cooking. Our camper is a HILO and 20 feet long. We're heading to Florida and might not need them, but if we do!!Customer Review: Great heater but Overpriced.

I bought this heater 6-7 years ago at the Home Depot for $20, regular price. It broke down and I refuse to pay $99.00 which IMO is overpriced. Considering it was used sparingly for 3 winters, that's not a good track record. There are many heaters just as good and much cheaper. A customer service number is not available as far as I know and that means no parts or repair center. I only gave it a 2 star rating due to the negatives.
