Customer Review: Vornado Heaters in Yachts

Being a yacht captain, we need heat in various areas of the boat such as in engine rooms and bilge compartments. This heater will turn off if it falls over. Air circulation is critical to prevent mildew and condensation. The heater air flow design is perfect. I have about 12 of these heaters on other yachts I take care of. Also, the Vornado fans are on the yachts as well.
Description of Vornado VH2 Vortex Heater
VORNADO VH2 Vortex Heater -The name Vornado combines the words "VORtex" and "torNADO," referring to the company's unique air-moving technology. Vornado's exclusive Vortex Action brings the air to an active, excited state, turning entire rooms into comfort zones. The VH2 Vortex Heater features a top mounted control panel for easy operation and access. Tight grill spirals with a maximum of 1/4-inch between spirals discourage wandering fingers or fabrics Average exit temperature between 120?F & 130?F; exit air will not burn the skin Overheat thermal breaker and backup fuse Non-glowing heat element Sleek, compact case in subtle whitestone color Dimensions - 11.87H x 11.75W x 9.5D; 5.2 pounds shipping weight One year warrantyBy projecting a tight "beam" of air across a room, this lightweight, portable heater gently blankets the entire room in warmth. The vortex-action beam forces air towards the room's perimeter, thus heating the entire room, floor to ceiling, wall to wall. Quiet and compact, the heater measures just 12 inches high, 12 inches wide, and 10 inches deep. Two heat outputs (1,500 watts on high, 750 watts on low) and a variable heat control provide precise temperature control. Two fan settings permit a choice of continuous action or cycling on and off with the heating element, which is controlled by a thermostat that automatically turns the heater on and off to maintain a selected temperature. All controls are mounted on the heater's top for easy access.
Several features ensure safety: a nonglowing heating element mounted to nonflammable mica, automatic shutoff if the unit tips over or overheats, and a cool-touch cabinet. Because the heater has angled vents, it can be placed with its back close to the wall. Finally, the heater can be set in antifreeze mode, turning on only if a room's temperature falls below 40 degrees F. The heater carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack
