Customer Review: Would Buy This Again in a Heartbeat!

I waited 5 months to post a review on this product to make sure I was as excited about it as I was when I first got it and I am pleased to say I am absolutely thrilled with this purchase! Although a huge investment, I believe I got my monies worth and will save money in the long run. I use it at least once a day to make healthy green smoothies. I also make delicious peanut butter using nothing but roasted peanuts. I make hummus, grind my own wheat flour from wheat berries (which by the way is much tastier than store bought wheat flour.) Furthermore I've made delicious salad dressings, latte's, hot soups, etc. I've even made liquid compost. One of my favorites is vegetable omelets. I chop the veggies in seconds while scrambling the eggs. Making things and clean up is so fast that this appliance is a real timesaver.
I save money because nothing goes to waste now. It goes in the freezer if I haven't used it by the time it peaks in ripeness. And its just as easy to work with frozen ingredients, its even preferable depending on what I'm making. Because it blends at such high speeds, the friction created actually makes soups and latte's hot enough to serve after about 4 to 5 minutes of running the machine when starting from room temperature ingredients.
The other advantage is the health benefits of using such good healthy ingredients all the time. It makes me wish I had invested in one of these years ago. I feel much more energetic these days and experience better work outs because I feel stronger.
Lastly I want to comment on the special features of this high end model. The stainless steel finish is beautiful and the automatic settings for smoothies, frozen desserts, and hot soups are a pleasure because I can walk away while making them (i.e., the 4 to 5 minutes to make steaming hot soup). These features are far from a necessity though. Money can be saved with a lower Vitamix model such as the 5200 which I believe has the same motor, just not the automatic buttons and the stainless steel finish. It comes with a really nice recipe book too which I love. I don't always need it though, because in a short time, I learned the basics of how to make things as thick as I want them, as cold as I want them, as pureed as I want them etc. by adjusting the speed and length of blending time. Because it was a good competitive price here on Amazon, plus free shipping and no sales tax, I decided to splurge for this model and I do love the beauty and convenience it provides!
I'm proud this item is made in Ohio in the good old USA. Its built like a workhorse and I plan to use it for my lifetime. I wish I had one when my children were babies because I would have made all my own baby food in it. I love that I keep all the fiber in my fruits and vegetables, unlike a juicer. I don't keep sweets in the house anymore because now when I get the urge for something sweet, I know I can whip up something healthy in this like a fruit smoothie or chocolate peanut butter skim milk shake in moments. I could go on and on with how extremely happy I am with this purchase. I thank Amazon for selling it here. If you're considering one and if its in your budget, I highly recommend them.
