It sounds cool when you pour wine into it, but I don't notice that much of a difference in the taste or quality of the wine I've poured thru it. I have experimented with it with reds and whites around the $20 and $10 ranges and found that if you pour the wines thru it 4-5 times, they then start to taste smoother than if you just do one pour thru. That said, unless you have the patience to pour the wine into a measuring cup that many times and then put the last pour into the wine glass, I wouldn't recommend it. It's okay if you sip wine alone and have time, but if you are entertaining and sharing, it wouldn't be practical. You should just get a straw and blow bubbles into the wine and get the same effect as long as your breath is fresh. ;-)Customer Review: Good To Look At, Good To Use, Great Idea!

The Vinturi Wine Aerator does exactly what it says on the box. It makes your wine straight out of the bottle taste as though it's been breathing for an hour or more. We've found it can even make cheap plonk from a cask/box taste much better! Good medium priced wines are a revelation after passing through the aerator. Apart from doing it's job well it is beautifully made from perspex and comes with it's own well made stand. The design and production quality means it looks perfectly at home in the cupboard beside your favourite wine glasses. If you enjoy wine with your evening meal the Vinturi allows you to pour the perfect glass as soon as you arrive home with the pizza or have that second bottle with friends without having to let it breathe.Customer Review: Nice gadget for the impatient wine lover

I was introduced to the Vinturi at a winery in the Napa Valley. One of the pourers in the tasting room highly recommended it. (Since it was nearly $50 in the winery gift shop, I passed, and was delighted that I could find it for much less on Amazon.) Since buying one, I've been impressed with the way that it opens up a wine. To me at least, the effect is more noticeable with richer, heavier reds than with lighter ones, and of course the longer a bottle is open, the less the Vinturi is needed. It comes with its own stand and is attractive enough to leave on the counter or to display with the wine glasses. The pouch that it comes with makes it easy to take to restaurants. I'm planning to give some of these as gifts to my wine-loving friends.Customer Review: No need to decant your wine for an hour

This product is amazing. Been watching and reading about it. Finally, purchased one for myself and one for each of two friends as a thank you gift.
All three of us are quite pleased. This product aerates your wine equal to decanting for an hour. If you have a heavier wine, you can pass thru the aerator twice. It really makes a difference. The nice additional feature is it is portable. When you go to a restaurant, regardless of the price of the wine. they do not decant it, due to time constraints. You can bring your venturi in it's travel case, and when your server pours, they can pour it thru the venturi, or you can opt to pour the wine yourself.

Vinturi Essential Wine AeratorA friend told me about this product. She had gotten it as a gift and was pleased with it. Neither of us buy expensive wines, but we enjoy a moderate priced wine with our dinner. I thought I'd take a chance and purchase it on Amazon. I drink red wine and usually pour it in a decanter before I drink it. This seems to do a little more than that. It may be the sound and process that influences the mind, but whatever it is, it is fun and I feel it works. I was told that decanting the wine releases some of the stuff that causes the headaches with red wine.....So anything that aids in this process is worthwhile.
