Customer Review: Holi areated wine batman!!!! It works!!!!!

Ok...so I am not a seasoned wine drinker...in fact I hated red wine and never tried it until someone forced me to go to a wine tasting and learn about it. Voila....my thought changed overnight and now I have dropped the hard alcohol and moved to red-wine.
I have been experimenting with different wines on a regular basis and trying to figure out the subtle differences that exist between the different regions, grapes, etc.... It has been a hard thing for me to find differences in bouquet's, tastes, etc....
Someone recommended a Vinturi....so I figured why not.
I got the device and immediately opened a bottle of Merlot from Italy. Taste test time. I poured 4 half glasses in my new Riedel's.... 2 had un-aerated wine and 2 had wine poured through the Vinturi. I had my wife try a glass of unaerated and then I did the same. WE then went to the Vinturi'd wine..... IMMEDIATELY - the first words out of my wife's mouth....I CAN SMELL THE DIFFERENCE. Taste of course was 2nd and it was remarkably different. I had the same exact results.
I would recommend this product for the novice and the advanced user...

but be careful on what your use it on.
I can tell you about the tests I have tried and tests I have administered to others which would further solidify the fact that this is a great investment and a great gift for a wine lover...but hundreds of other reviewers that can attest to that. I'm here to tell you that it does not work on every wine. I have have had experiences where the vinturi would expand the nose but also increase the amount of tannin. The wine would still require decanting for the tannins to be subdued. I have not tried it on really mature wine but I can imagine, because they are delicate the vinturi would do nothing but close them. Basically my point is, don't always rely on this device, trust your palate.
Along with the portability, the greatest gift this device can give you is the ability to poor a single glass at a time and sample the wine. Being able to decide if it should belong aerated through the vinturi, placed in a decanter, both (which I find for most really young wines is ideal), or enjoyed straight from the bottle. For that alone this product is worthy of being added to your wine accessories .

I ordered this Vinturi Essential Red Wine Aerator from Amazon.com on 29 November 2011...
I am the neighborhood watch captain and I get invited to all of the neighborhood parties... I order this unit because it made wines that had a little bite taste better... I did not receive a complete unit and was made aware of this when I took mine to a wine party next door... My neighbor asked me where is the holder and travel case? I replied I did not get one... She said her order came with it and she took me to the website and sure enough, it was listed in the Product details... I have not received a response from the outsourced customer service who is insensitive and cold-hearted...
Please be aware that this unit comes with a holder/base and a travel case...
Mine did not and I feel cheated and violated... I have purchased thousands of dollars of merchandise from Amazon.com because they were once reputable and economical.
As of late I have been having too many problems with my orders and have started purchasing from the local vendors like BevMo...
This product is EXCELLENT when you receive a complete ORDER!

I have a very good friend who has a wine brokerage. He's a good friend to have. I'm often the guinea pig for a new vintage he's considering. So I was surprised to see him open an interesting bottle of red and pour the wine through this sleek little piece of glass and plastic. As the wine streamed through the instrument it produced an audible gurgling whir. I could see bubbles floating through the wine in the chamber before it streamed into the wine glass. It's well known that wines must breathe a bit, some more than others, to be fully appreciated. I asked him if he was joking with me. He is a jokester. However, he was insistent that he was serious and that using the Vinturi was a way of decanting wine a glass at a time. He urged me to taste the wine poured straight from the bottle and then taste the wine poured through the Vinturi. The difference was unquestionable. The wine decanted through the Vinturi was remarkably better. The model I bought was designed for red wines. There is also a model designed for whites. I'll be buying that as well. I would suggest the Vinturi as a nice gift for Christmas for the wine lovers on your list.Customer Review: It really works well

After seeing excellent reviews about this product, I decided to try this wine aerator for myself. The aerator even surpassed my expectations! I have an affinity for good 10-year-old red wines and after using this product, even the cheaper, newer wines tasted much better. I own a decanter and I can safely say that I won't have much use for it again. The Vinturi speeds up the breathing process quite well. There are some cheaper wines that I have had to pour through the Vinturi twice (the $5-$7 reds) and it was worth the effort - even they tasted better. I gave one to my Dad for an early fathers day present because whenever I am at his place, he always buys the "cheapest of the cheap" brands of red wine, and, since I am his son, I'll drink a glass and "gut it out". So when he used it, even he, my taste-dead dad, could tell the difference. I was hoping he wouldn't have noticed. This aerator really works with the cheaper wines, and I actually enjoyed the glass I drank with him. When I got home, I had to go buy another one for myself. It wasn't a hard decision. If you really like red wine, get this product - you won't be dissappointed.
