We bought this aerator as a friend had shown us one she was given as a present. She invited us to try it before and after a "Three Buck Chuck" and it worked very well. So we ordered 2! Of course we now invite our friends to try it with us whenever we have wine and to save time doing it over every glass we pour it straight through into a decanter. Although we bought the aerator for red wine it also worked very well with a Sauvignon Blanc which was slightly too acidic for me. It certainly made it less acidic. However we tried it with a Lindeman's chardonnay and it did nothing for it at all. Do buy it and try it for yourselves.Customer Review: Works as promised!

I had looked at many different products but after reading all of the information I could dig up and because the price just can't be beat I decided to give the Vinturi Essential Wine Aerator a try. I can honestly say this little device is wonderful and I will be purchasing more to give as gifts. I have a favorite red wine that rings in around $8.99 ~ it is yummy to begin with but when I use the aerator it's even better. On another note, I have not purchased a lesser expensive wine to try this out on, let's say the $4.99 range to see how much improvement can be made. That is next on my list. Wonderful manufacturing and design make this an attractive piece. I demoed this aerator in a vineyard a year ago, and I could really tell a difference in the taste of the wine when this was used. At home, not so much. It no doubt makes a big difference what wines you run through it, and I haven't found the ones that benefit from the vinturi as much as the ones I tasted at the vineyard. I guess I'll just have to keep on trying!
On another note, the sound the wine makes as it swirls down the aerator and air is sucked in from the sides is not particularly appetizing, and detracts from a nice wine experience.

We enjoy red wine but are not what you would call wine experts by any stretch. We have always been aware that red wine needs to decant to some extent, and most importantly to be served at the right temperature, not necessarily due to artificial decanting. But we tried this product by allowing wine to breathe and reach the right serving temperature, tested the product on one sample and not on the other, and it really does make a difference. Cannot say for all wines but all merlot and cab we have tried are better with this product. The temperature and time may be as important, though.

A friend brought his Vinturi Essential Wine Aerator to dinner one night and we did side by side taste comparisons of wine that was poured straight from the bottle versus wine that was poured through this interesting little device. There was an impressively noticeable difference, the aerated wine was much smoother with a better overall taste. I have since bought one Vinturi Essential Wine Aerator for my family and another as a gift for wine-loving friends. I am no wine expert by any means, but this item performs as advertised, is sturdily made and easily cleaned. I am 100% satisfied with the product.
