Customer Review: Very Suspect No-Name PumpStopper

Judging by its reviews as a stand-alone item, I'm confdent that the Aerator [with its elaborate individual packaging] should work as advertised, remembering that some reds, especially inexpensive ones, will not benefit from its use.
While the design, even in plastic, is rather attractive, it clearly carries a heafty markup and I would find a unit designed to stay atached to the bottle's top while in use comfortably less ostenatious when serving guests.
The Pump/Stopper is something else again: it's cheaply packed on a small plastic covered cardboard card, looking like something you'd find hanging off hooks in a 99c-store, the only text being "Vacuum Cypriot wine" [sic] for which I can find nothing on Google. Lacking any instructions, you'd guess operations are intuative - not so. Raise the plunger & a tiny bit of air is removed; the plunger then usually resists being forced back down but when forced repeats remove even less air. On the other hand, the plunger sometimes goes back easily but then is pumping air back in as well. Or the plunger may on its own spring back most of the way with indeterminate results.

it seems that you must stow the bottle upright in the fridge as laying it on its side breaks the vacuum.
I assume the term "intermediate button" here is the plunger as there is no button, intermediate or otherwise, to be found. And they go on to claim their unit "puts an end to the oxidation process" & "Keeps wine fresh for 7 days" which I find beyond belief.
All in all, I find it sad to see Vinturi deminishing the effect of their carefully planned packaging & design by associating it with what seems to be a Chineese throw-away item. And by the way, the black cloth bag illustrated with the Aerator was not included.
