I bought the grill because a friend told me how much they enjoyed panini sandwiches and I am glad I did. We are enjoying the grill immensely and have used it for all kinds of sandwiches. It cooks great! Clean-up is a bit of a challenge as you have to be careful not to immerse the grill in water while dealing with the hinged lid, but you figure a way quickly. This is my second villa ware panini press. Out of all the "reasonably" priced machines, this one is built the best. You will definitely be happy with this purchase. It heats up quickly and is relatively easy to clean. The nicest feature is that the top is heavy enough to actually press down on the sandwiches which all these machines are supposed to do but few rarely do.Customer Review: Performs as Advertised

Originally purchased another brand which we used once and returned. This one we're very happy with. Other than it doing what it says it will do, we like the on-ready lights being bright enought to see and the dripping-drain that directs the liquids off into a tray. It didn't have an on/off switch, but I easly added an in-line switch that I purchased at a hardware store.Customer Review: Very Fine Product

This is a very fine product. I've only used it a hand full of times since Christmas but it cooks excellent and is easy to clean. It does take a little bit longer then I expected to fully heat-up, about 10 minutes. Our unit came with recipes and an extra cookbook, which was a pleasant surprise. This grill is heavy duty and heats well. It makes good Panini but I've given it a low rating due to it's difficulty in cleaning. I don't understand why the manufacturers of these contact grills can't make the grill plates REMOVABLE!
Now I see that Cuisinart has. Do yourself a favor and get that one.
