Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Villaware V2160 UNO ProPress Panini GrillCustomer Review: Great grill Summary: 5 Stars
This grill works expectionally well for sandwiches/ paninis. The grill gets extremely hot and sears bread nicely - paninis look just like ones you might have purchased at a cafe. I haven't tried cooking other types of food even though the grill can handle other tasks with the varying heat settings. The first time I attempted to clean the grill it was a bit cumbersome; however, I found that spraying or brushing the bread first reduces some of the mess during clean-up. In addition, I found that once the grill is cool cleaning the grooves individually (vertically) with a paper towel and the cleaning comb it came with works very well.
Customer Review: Like dining out while at home Summary: 5 Stars
A fine piece of equipment. I was able to reproduce the same quality as if one were dining out. The unit produces a fine array of sanwhiches and can grill a variety of other foods if one has the desire.
The unit comes to operating temperature quite quickly & the variety of available temperatures give the device a diverse set of abilities.
Cleanup is easy if you scrape it out the the provided tool while the unit is still warm, same as the G.F. grills.
The unit folds up nicely and looks good sitting on ones counter space.
I have not issues, only compliments for this unit.
Customer Review: Great Grill AND Customer Service Summary: 4 Stars
We got this grill around a year ago and my family is spoiled!!! They will only eat paninis now, no non-grilled sandwiches around our house. So we were quite disappointed when a screw dropped out and down the register, especially after all the "knocks" I'd read on their customer service; we hadn't bothered to register ours and weren't sure it was still in warranty. I was thrilled when I called their CS dept. and they offered to replace the entire unit, no questions asked. Otherwise this is a terrific product, highly versatile and easy to clean -- I would buy it again and recommend it to a friend! -- LS in CO
Customer Review: Great Panini Grill Summary: 5 Stars
Makes great sandwiches with almost any thickness bread or rolls. Easy to use but wish it had an on/off switch rather than having to unplug it. Just a note for all the rocket scientist out there having so much trouble cleaning it -I let the machine cool down quite a bit then place it next to the sink with the drain spout over the sink - wipe the heavy stuff off with a hot soapy towel - then I use a soft bristle mushroom cleaning brush dipped in hot soapy water to get the grooves clean - then carefully rinse grill plates off with the sink sprayer. It takes only about 3-4 minutes to clean.
Customer Review: Excellent and not that hard to clean Summary: 5 Stars
I think that this item is fantastic. I use it for sandwiches and occasionally for bacon. The clean up is easier than most pots and pans. The fact that you can't submerge it may be a burden to some people but if you are experienced in the kitchen, I don't think it's too big of a deal. The quality construction of this grill is also unbeatable in comparison to other similar items. It looks great and heats evenly. I think it's important to note that this is billed as a Panini grill, which it is first and foremost, not an alternative to the George Foreman or other similar products.
