Customer Review: Beep isn't annoying...
Summary: 5 Stars

So this waffle maker is the greatest. In trying to decide what waffle maker to buy, I scoured all the reviews, this one;as I'm sure you know; has great reviews. The only drawbacks anybody had was the 'beep' tone that's used. However, I thought it was perfect. Amazingly useful and not annoying, don't let that deter you from this awesome waffle maker!

It cooked the waffles all the way through on every setting, just crispier on the outside as you move up the scale. I didn't put anything on the surfaces before cooking, and nothing stuck, and it cooked them so quickly, you can churn out an entire batch before the first one gets cold!

It also has a great 50's look to it, and feels substantal enough to last a long time, if it ever goes down, I'm buying another one exactly, it's that good! And the few crumbs left over hold no problem for cleanup at all.

This is an excellent buy and I recommend it to everyone!

Customer Review: great waffles but doesn't work any more
Summary: 2 Stars

My daughter and her boyfriend are both chefs and she bought this waffle maker for him as a present. He already had one so she gave it to me. I tried it and never really knew when it was ready to add the batter. I've read other reviews and each state there is a signal or alarm when waffle is ready, this unit never made any noise, so I had to guess when waffle was done. The 1st time I used it, I guessed when it was done and it made a perfect waffle, delicious. The 2nd time, not so lucky, it took several attempts to get it right. Used it again to make waffles for my husband but forget to spray with cooking spray and waffle stuck but was tasty. We made another and it was great. I used it again yesterday for breakfast and it was perfect. This morning, I plugged it in and nothing happened, never heated and no lights. Very disappointing. I'm not sure my daughter still has the receipt. I think it's a piece of junk.

Customer Review: Very Good Waffle Maker
Summary: 4 Stars

Makes great waffles. Our favorite feature is the setting indicator. You set the number and it beeps when they are done. Move it a little either way and the very next waffle comes out a little more or less done. You can hear it upstairs so my son knows when to come down. To make one waffle it takes about 1 cup of batter. The waffles are very thick. Our old waffle mix does not work very well in this machine. All the recipes supplied are very high in fat which we try to avoid. We have a flap-jack mix that works very well in the machine. Still looking for a basic recipe that is low in fat that works well. The teflon coating works very well. We have never had one stick and we have never put anything on to make sure they do not stick. A word of caution. The outside is metal and it does get rather hot in used. Overall a great product with a few weaknesses. I would definitely recommend this item.

Customer Review: Out of box made great waffles, the best!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this after doing what I always do when I buy something and that is to obsess over making sure I get the right one for me. So I surfed the web, read reviews and bought this one. My last unit was junk and made crummy thin waffles and finally after I put too much batter in it expanded so much it broke the catch. In the trash and back to looking was I. Some people wrote that they didn't like the beeper on this unit. I love it as I get off on a tangent and forget my waffles. The beep keeps me under control. Anyway I followed the recipe that came with the book for whole wheat waffles. I changed some things like putting in olive oil instead of butter, skim milk instead of whole, egg beaters instead of an egg, and sweet n low instead of honey. I must say setting it on 6 the first one out was perfect. I didn't need to put it on the highest. Anyway I have a nice breakfast maker and glad of it.

Customer Review: I like it -- even the beep
Summary: 4 Stars

Yes, the beep has a pitch and volume combination that no one can ignore. But we haven't burned a waffle yet, so I am very satisfied. The waffles come off the iron just crisp enough with good color. I only need to spray the iron once, for the first waffle, and nothing sticks. The time between waffles is short, too. And I don't need to set a timer, either.

In 35 years we have burned out two waffle irons. A full household of children and waffles every Sunday morning is a great combination; and now we all use the best waffle iron yet.

I picked this waffle iron after our family went two weeks with no Sunday waffles. On the TV program "Good Eats" Alton Brown did a waffles episode and this model met his requirements (and ours) for waffle-making. I compared several models and read the product reviews. This one was a clear winner, and it is living up to my expectations.
