Customer Review: Cheap plastic can't survive motor

It doesn't even rate 1 star. Don't waste your time with this blender. Viking should be ashamed to put their name on this machine. It looked fine at the store. I wanted a model that would take mason jars as well as the blender jar. When I got it home, it was very poorly made. The lid doesn't even stay together, the middle piece comes out for a feeder hole. But it doesn't lock in. So every time you set the lid on the counter so it won't drip, it comes out. When I unscrewed the jar, there was a funky big metal coil spring in the bottom between the jar and the screw on bottom. I thought, well I'm not an engineer, lets give it a go. I made a frozen drink with it and it seemed to handle that well. Big surprise. It broke the 2nd time I used it. The underside of the plastic collar that locks onto the motor assembly sheared off when I made my first smoothie. Now I have to go to the time and expense of returning it. I'm going to write this on other review sites, so no one wastes their time buying it.
