Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Victorio VKP1013 Round Three-Tray Kitchen Seed SprouterCustomer Review: Good European style sprouter Summary: 4 Stars
This is s nice European style humidity tray sprouter with some caveats. There will be water left over after the grooved trays drain. This is part of the design. I have had zero mildew problems and I use this thing all the time. This sprouter is great for home use, but a bit cumbersome at work. Tray juggling is a bit of a chore, but the capacity is generous. Smaller seeds like alfalfa tend to get stuck in the drain holes. Lentils love this sprouter! The unit is easy to clean and is very sturdy. I would recommend this sprouter to anyone.
Customer Review: I love this sprouter Summary: 5 Stars
I have tried different methods for sprouting seeds before but they never worked well. This sprouter does the job without a lot of effort.
To begin with, it is compact so it doesn't take up a lot of space on the counter. It is also very easy to use: just fill the top container with water and when it is done, empty the water from the bottom container.
You are supposed to add water twice a day, but I do it about three times and I always use filtered water.
No mess no fuss and it is easy to clean.
I definitely recommend it.
Customer Review: Still working after 10+ years Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this model sprouter at a local grocery store what must be over 10 years ago and have been very satisfied with it. I recently picked up a 2 tray square sprouter at "The Home Depot" and found that these new designs have holes too large that allow smaller seeds like onion and broccoli fall through. Based on this disappointment, I'm returning to buy a 2nd sprouter of this design to increase our growing capacity. I'm curious to see if I can combine trays with our existing sprouter and water all 6 at once.
Customer Review: Leaves sprouts wet and moldy Summary: 2 Stars
Good idea with the siphons, but they don't drain properly, so sprouts sit in water. In California, that means mold, bugs, and rot. Nice effort, but design needs to go back to the drawing board. And when I called the company to ask them some basic questions, they didn't know the answers and directed me to a store that carriers their products, and who don't recommend them. very strange, but it just goes to show that the company's just not very serious. I'm back on amazon to find a more effective sprouter.
Customer Review: doesnt drain the water, so the sprouts rot Summary: 1 Stars
The grooves on the bottom of each dish are solid, so they do not allow the water to drain like other sprouters I've used.
Each shelf has the siphon, however it does not work well and gets clogged with small sprouts, like alfalfa.
I tried to grow small sprouts in this multiple times, and each time they rotted due to poor drainage, even when I carefully tried to pour the water out.
It might work for larger beans, but definitely bad for small sprouts.
