Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Victorinox 47547 10-1/4-Inch Wavy Bread Knife, Black Fibrox HandleCustomer Review: Cuts Like Hot Butter! Summary: 5 Stars
Originally I was searching for a really nice bread knife because I received a bread oven for Christmas. What I got when I ordered this knife was much, much more!
The heading says it all, this knife cuts ANYTHING like hot butter. I will be saving to invest in other knives of this brand.
Yes, the price is a bit steep, but as I say, it really does cut anything, smoothly and precise. Well worth the price tag.
Customer Review: A must have for your kitchen Summary: 5 Stars
This knife along with a couple paring knives are all I need in my kitchen. Very sharp with a very good handle grip. I intended to use it just for slicing breads and cakes but it's so sharp I'll be using it during the holidays to slice ham and turkey. Keep in mind, it's a long knive; like another reviewer said, it might be the longest one you have in your kitchen -- but, you'll get the most use out of it. It's the perfect slicer!
Customer Review: Now this is a Knife Summary: 5 Stars
They send it in a box large enough for a small car and the knife looks imposing, but boy does it slice. I carved an entire loaf of Challah bread in 1" increments for French toast. Each slice was a perfectly straight cut (like a bread slicing machine). So put away those spindly flexible, too short knives and use what the pros use. Now, why that box was so big ... perhaps you could cut it up with your new knife.
Customer Review: Works great Summary: 5 Stars
I recently learned how to make bread from scratch so I had to get a bread knife. My mom has a Pampered Chef bread knife and I thought it was the best thing ever, but it's also crazy expensive. This I think works just as well, if not better and it was much more reasonably priced. I cuts great, even on a loaf hot out of the oven. I seems kind of huge for what I need it for, but who cares if it works so well?
Customer Review: Cuts through seeds like they were nothing Summary: 5 Stars
I know this is a bread knife, but I use it on fruit more than anything else. Simply drag it slowly across the fruit or vegetable (which is a tomato anyway?) and very little effort is required. You may be surprised to discover that you sliced cleanly through several apple seeds without even noticing! Just be careful to keep your finger out of its path, because you probably wouldn't feel a thing.
