This is a great knife! I use it for a lot more than just cutting bread, which it does exceptionally well. It slices without crushing the loaves, especially crusty French and Italian style breads. This is by far the best knife I have ever owned. I find myself using it for everything instead of just bread. It's razor sharp and the handle feels very comfortable while holding it in my hand. I'll keep this short: this knife is the best value for the money you'll likely find. I'm going to buy the 8" one next, as an all-around knife for the kitchen. I saw the review of this knife in Test Kitchens, and it is by far the best bread knife I have ever used. I make hard crust peasant bread, and it floats through it. I cut carbs through thin slicing, and it works beautifully, and a budget price at that. Way to go Victorinox, I will try others of your knives.Customer Review: Great Knife!

I bought this knife based on the America's Test Kitchen/Cooks Illustrated recommendation. It does exactly what I need it to do. It slices through sandwiches on french bread without crushing the bread or dragging the contents out. A good knife is so valuable and this one is well worth the cost!
