I've always wanted a ten inch bread knife, but never purchased one because of the expense. After buying the Victorinox Chef's Knife, and liking it so much, I looked for the bread knife, saw that it was truly inexpensive, compared to other well-known brands, and ordered it from Amazon. because they do all the hard work, and I reap the rewards of their efforts! I got rid of two inferior bread knives (one of which came with my bread machine) to make room for this knife. I have the smaller 8" version on my wish list and hope Santa sees it before Christmas! P. S. Although he doesn't mention it by name, I think this is the knife Alton Brown uses in his Super Apple Pie episode.Customer Review: Superb!

I recently broke out my bread maker and started baking again. The trouble was, I couldn't make nice, even slices without tearing the crust. I read the reviews for this knife and quickly ordered it. What a difference a great knife makes! I have used it on several loaves now, and it works beautifully every time. It slices through crust without any problem at all. I bake and eat a lot of bread. I especially like buying bread from a very good local bakery that sells loaves with extremely tough bottom crusts. My old serrated bread knife would often require me to bear down with numerous attempts to saw through this crusty bottom. This knife is amazing, perfect bread slices with a single sweep of the blade. Quality bread knife at a great price. Slices soft loaves of bread with ease and without crushing the bread. The same goes for cutting Italian or French loaves; smooth and easy to use without crushing. Makes the slicing of dried loaves of bread for brochette simple, again without the mess of ordinary bread knives. A great buy and a wonderful addition to the kitchen arsenal.
