Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Victorian Pottery Pastoral England Shortbread MoldCustomer Review: for decorative use only - did not mold our shortbread Summary: 3 Stars
The mold is beautiful and makes a great display piece, but we never figured out how to actually mold our shortbread using the mold. It didn't come with instructions. We initially baked the shortbread in it, but that was next to impossible to remove. I then followed various instructions from the web for other molds, but it just never produced shortbread with any detectable design.
Description of Victorian Pottery Pastoral England Shortbread MoldWhy not invite your friends in for an English afternoon with tea and shortbread? This Victorian Pottery 10-3/4 inch square shortbread mould features beautiful assorted pastoral designs, reminiscent of the English countryside, imbedded in the base, which will transfer to the top of each cookie during the baking process. It has a generous, deep dish with a fluted edge, along with a hole in the top, making it perfect for hanging on the wall when not in use. The Victorian Pottery Company is a long established maker of fine traditional kitchenware. With skills being passed down from generation to generation, this quintessential English creamware is a classic example of traditional pottery making at its best. Each piece is moulded and glazed by hand, then fired at temperatures above 2000 degrees. This high firing gives each piece incredible strength and durability. A sweet decoration for the kitchen and sweeter in the oven, this classic mold makes homemade buttery shortbread easy to bake and especially pretty. Simply fill the 10-3/4 inch square pan to create nine delicious pieces of shortbread for guests to enjoy with tea. Various designs of lovely scenes from the English countryside transfer from the base of the pan to imprint the top of cookies for a tasty presentation. The 1-1/2-inch deep dish features fluted sides and a thumbprint scalloped edge. Since 1869, the Victorian Pottery Company set the standard, creating fine English creamware with the same lasting techniques. Each piece is molded and glazed by hand, and fired at high temperatures for strong durability that is dishwasher- and microwave-safe. This tradition never goes out of style, making the Pastoral England mold a delightful gift for a favorite baker. --Roberta Cruger
