I absolutely love these things. Love them so much I actually purchased several sets of them after I found out how well they work. As another reviewer has pointed out, bless his heart, they do work with the old pump system and work perfectly. I do a tremendous amount of entertaining and more often than not have several half filled bottles of wine left. These little things actually save me a fortune in the long run. I used the first set for quite some time and there was no cracking, splitting or gumming. Do keep them well washed. I actually use a disinfectant on mine, hot water and quick drying and keep them out of the sunlight when not in use. I cannot see how you could go wrong with these wonderful stoppers.Customer Review: Bring back the original design.

Please, Vacu Vin, won't you bring back the old design?! Those slightly softer ones with the slit on the top and three ridges on the bottom? The ones that don't, on occasion, slip up in the bottle, leaving wine oxidized -- the ones that don't fall out in transit, spoiling a cooler's content with spilt wine? I have a couple of the old ones left and am guarding them with great care, so as not to lose one of these precious, quality stoppers. Won't you please make these again? You could even call them "deluxe" and sell them for 50% more. One bottle of spilt or stale wine would make it worth a return to quality -- and I have had three such disappointment with this design.Customer Review: Works with the Vacu-Vin Pump

These are great! However you NEED the VacuVin PUMP to make them use. Don't try to use them without the pump as they will not stay in secure, and will not keep your wine fresh. You're better off using a piece of plastic over the bottle if then to just try ordering these corks without first having the pump.
With the pump these work great and are necessary as extras. Just make sure you take them apart and wash them in hot soapy water before using.
Also, both times I ordered these extras they came in a plastic zip lock bag with an amazon label. So I think Amazon must get a batch of them in and seperate them by hand.

This vacuum pump system works well enough to keep a bottle of wine good for up to a week or more. Having more than one stopper on hand is useful when you don't want to drink the same wine every night or when you live with someone whose preference differs from yours.
Having a set of extra stoppers is especially useful in the aftermath of a house party, when you may have several half-empty bottles of wine left over.
These stoppers last very well. They don't dry or crack, even when washed frequently in the dishwasher. It is convenient to have a stopper available even when the others are waiting for the dishwasher to be run.

The Vacu Vin Wine saver system is the perfect way to keep your opened bottle of wine drinkable for as long as possible. Of course it won't perform miracles, but the results are far superior to simply sticking the cork back in the bottle until you're ready to drink the rest. Forget the "gas method" or having to finish the bottle! It's so easy to use and much easier than trying to get the cork back in and then getting it back out without a corkscrew. Just pop it in and out as many times as it takes to finish the bottle, and just give it a few pumps each time you put it away. Technology made simple at last, and for something important!
