I purchased this for a gift for my in-laws along with the matching wine chillers. On our visit with them my father-in-law placed the champagne chiller in the freezer overnight and the next morning put it on a bottle of unopened, warm champagne. I had read some of the reviews on the wine chillers so I passed on that the champagne needed to sit with the chiller for 15 minutes, not just the few minutes the directions suggested, to be effective. After 15 minutes my father-in-law opened the champagne and served it and was very happy with how cold it was in such a short amount of time. I had thought about purchasing them one of those single bottle chiller machines that sit on the counter, but this turned out to be a much better choice since it doesn't take up counter space and it works just as effectively or more so (some bad reviews on those things) and you can leave it on the bottle to keep it cold. I think if you know what to expect and you follow the suggestions in the other reviews to leave on for at least 15 minutes, you'll be happy with this product and it basically works as intended.

The amazing Rapid Ice Coolers can best be described as super cold flexible ice jackets. They can, when taken from the freezer, simply be slipped over the bottle or can. The drink will be chilled within 5 minutes and stays cool for hours. The secret to Rapid Ice is a very special non-toxic gel, multiple foil layers and foam pouches to maximize insulation.
