This is a small, stylish foil cutter. The cutter function works very well with the four blades versus many foil cutters that have two.
I almost gave it a '4 star' rating since I could not remove the magnet and because it is so small. The unit is made up of two pieces as shown on the Amazon site, the foil cutter and base unit. You can keep the cutter itself separate from the base unit. The magnet can't be easily removed from the base unit. If you aren't careful and get the magnet two close to an electronic device our your credit cards you might find them no working as expected.
The size is so small that sometimes when putting it in the base unit it slips out of my fingers.
Even with that it is a great little stylish unit that cuts foil well.

I agree with other reviewers that this foil cutter works well once it's actually in place on the bottle capsule. It's also sturdy--I know, because I've dropped mine at least 50 times. That's because it is not only small (1 3/4 by 1 1/4 inches--smaller than the illustration) but also tapered at an angle that makes it hard to grip when removing it from the base. I'm dropping it less often now that I've figured out that it is best stuck to the top and not the side of the refrigerator door, but I'm still in the market for a foil cutter that doesn't sacrifice ease of use to sleek looks.Customer Review: Nothing good about this one

I selected this foil cutter because of all the positive reviews about it. I have to wonder if this is the same one everyone else is so happy with. For starters, the magnetic feature doesn't work. The magnet is not strong enough to stick to anything. The foil cutter is so small, it is difficult to hold it while trying to use it. The wheels are very small; therefore you have to squeeze the cutter very, very tightly in order for it to work. This thing requires way too much effort for it to work. I wish I had chosen a different one.Customer Review: Simply the best

Ok it's just a wine foil top cutter.....but wait....this one actually works and keeps working! I have had numerous cutters that came with different cork screw openner sets, but this one beats them all.
1) Great little design has the cutter part and a little holder with a magnet base to keep it in a convenient place
2) Blades are great
3) Springs make for very easy handling regardless of bottle top shape
I am glad to have stumbled across this little baby!

We've been using ours for about five years now, and it's the best foil cutter (requires only one quarter of a turn to do the job!) as well as the most convenient! It stays on the fridge with the magnet and is always at hand to do the job - the cutter removes from the magnet part with a little squeeze - so you always know where to find it! This and an Estate Opener are the two wine tools that anyone truly interested in wine should own!!!
